my wife has eaten sushi in this place many times, but today she asked me to come by after work and pick up sushi for her! I just ordered 4 rolls to go! I admit honestly the sushi was very tasty, the service was as always good! but when I ate the sushi I came across several hard and sharp bones or stones, I think they were pieces of mussel shells, or pieces of ceramic dishes or ceramic tiles, something like that! but I cut my gum quite badly with one of the pieces, and I don’t know if I swallowed a few more! this is unacceptable in a restaurant of your level!* *review edited a month after publication*you must understand that the restaurant does not care about the health of their customers at all! I damaged my gum very badly, and I had to go to the dentist, he prescribed me treatment, and in total I spent $ 420 because of the mistake of this restaurant! I do not demand compliance, and I do not need anything from this restaurant, but for more than a month the restaurant administration has not even apologized! this shows a disgusting attitude towards customers, they do not care about the quality of the food sold, they are only interested in quantity! but sooner or later, they come across a person who has more free time than me, he will sue them and close this restaurant!

UPDATE: Kenny (the guy that works there) gave me a phone call and said he has something to give me. I called the store back after a few days and he told he that he would give me a credit for the previous spider roll. I asked him if i could get it right away and he was nice enough to give it to me. The spider roll with no sesame seeds was really delicious and since the customer service was good, I would actually come back to this place and order food again. I'm changing my review from 1star to 4stars since the food I tried was delicious and the customer service is also good. Ordered a spider roll through their app for takeout. I asked for no fish roe (I'm pregnant) and no sesame seeds (I'm allergic), indicating my reasons why. I got home just to see that my sushi had black and white sesame seeds all over. Wasnt able to eat the sushi and wasnt able to return it to the store because it is my day off the next day. And I get off at 11am in the morning, the following day and they wont open till 12noon. I wasted my $12. :(

I got the “Salmon Combo” (I don’t remember the exact name though) and “Teriyaki Chicken.” The combo was good; I enjoyed their roll, though nothing was particularly impressive. The tuna sashimi that came with it was okay. I was just expecting a more yummy spicy sauce for this combo. I wouldn’t really recommend the Teriyaki Chicken. It was essentially a combination of rice, fried chicken, teriyaki sauce, and a little bit of veggies. I expected the chicken to be grilled, but it was lightly fried, which didn’t feel like Katsu style either. I’ve seen a lot of good reviews of their rolls, so I think I’ll try different types next time. The service was fast and efficient.

No idea why is this place ranked high. I now just want to go home and wash the burning sense in my mouth.

I went this evening because of the review. They let me waited for 20 mins while there were empty tables, just because I'm along. Then, it took another 10 mins to have someone come to take my order, and another 10-15 mins to serve my food - sashimi and nigiri. I had my first bite after 40 mins walking into the place, and it was not packed. The food was ordinary and overpriced- just like many places in mount pleasant, so not particularly bad. But I am having some allergic reaction now which is very rare considering I only ate fish and rice, like I always do in a Japanese place. Typically, I am allergy to chemicals adding to foods, like preservatives, colouring, and flavouring chemicals. I really don't see them in sashimi or rice. So #EatAtYourOwnRisk

Oh, btw, they charge you one dollar additional PER PIECE if you want to change a different type of fish, even for a cheaper one.

Honestly, foods is so so but not worse than a food court. However, my allergic reaction tells me to stay...

Ordered some delivery for dinner, a combination of maki, nigiri, and some appetizers.

Very low quality food, I like to think that restaurants like this aren't really trying to make good food, they are just trying to do the bare minimum. Examples:

I was very unsatisfied by the quality of fish in the sushi, the saba and hamachi were inedible. Both the maki and nigiri were also assembled quite poorly.

The beef teriyaki was made from very stringy meat which appeared to have been boiled, it had absolutely no colour on it. Think really bad bulgogi. The teriyaki sauce must have been of some cheap store bought variety.

The kara-age was seemingly made from chicken scraps, just doing the bare minimum to produce something that could even be considered kara-age.

The gyoza were alright, but clearly from a frozen bag.

We ordered too much food with the intention of having some leftovers, but we ended up just throwing everything away. With the number of sushi restaurants around the area, I would recommend avoiding Sushi Kaido. Not even...
