This is definitely not a place that someone with a baby or small child should go to, unless you get takeout. I went there with my child today and while sitting there with a half eaten pastries, Lilly told me to change tables because a group of three were waiting for a table. Normally I would not care as I've changed tables before at other restaurants but there was a table next to us that also had two adults sitting there and Lilly did not ask them to move at all! It's so much more easier to get two adults to move than someone with a small child. What annoyed me even more was when I told her I would be finishing up and leave, she quickly went over to tell them which prompted them to give me stares to get me to leave faster. I went over to talk to her and I could tell she did not like it because she wasn't addressing the issue and tried to change the topic. She explained it was because the other table had just arrived which I told her that wasn't true and we had gotten there around the same time. I was trying to be nice and said it could have been because I was there earlier with my friend (childless, repeat customer spending $$$$$ waiting for them to get off class meaning wouldn't be there long ). She quickly said "yes, maybe that's why." I looked around and there were so many other people sitting there for longer periods of time, not bothered by her. Her attitude wasn't the greatest as well. Trust me I need my child to eat and go! I wasn't going to sit there for long. My other child was getting off, so I was very aware of how long I was sitting there for. My kids have class across the street twice a week for the entire year. This would generate a good amount of steady income for the owner. It's unfortunate, because parents on the go are the best type of customers as they can't afford the time to sit there for a long periods of time. As a mother I would have to let other parents know this is not the place to go to if you want to sit down and eat with your children. I'm giving two extra stars because there was a very nice gentleman there who had impeccable manners. I try very hard to be fair when leaving a review. She tried to tell me it was his idea but I'm not sure if I believe that. The server should be smart and think about how much money a customer is spending there before doing something like this and if it's not about the money be a bit more compassionate with their customers. I won't be going back again and parents should not take their kids there. It's better for takeout, I think they would...
Read moreThe cake was absolutely delicious—everyone at my daughter’s birthday party loved it, and not a single slice was left. I wish there were a direct email to the owner so I didn’t have to post this publicly… but unfortunately, the service and overall experience left a lot to be desired.
From the moment I placed the order to the time I picked it up, the process felt completely unprofessional. The owner repeatedly insisted that the size I wanted was “too much cake for a kids’ party.” I appreciate helpful suggestions, but after hearing the same comment multiple times, it started to feel uncomfortable—especially since, again, all of the cake was gone by the end of the party.
I was told the cake would be ready for pickup at 11am. I ended up waiting over 20 minutes at the shop while they said it was “being wrapped.” Naturally, I expected some kind of elegant wrapping or packaging, especially after the delay. What I received was a flimsy cardboard box—twice the size of the cake—held together with green tape and a barely-secured plastic film. The cake didn’t even make it home in perfect condition, which is disappointing for a $175 cake.
The product itself deserves five stars, but the customer experience—logistics, communication, and packaging—really need improvement. I had at least 30 people at the party ask where the cake was from… and what could have been 30 glowing recommendations unfortunately turned into 30 cautionary tales.
Please take this as honest feedback from a customer who truly wanted to love the whole experience—not...
Read moreSpoke to 3 different people at 2 different phone calls. I asked if I can order a cake to have at the shop. - this is for my partner’s birthday. I adore their pastries and delicacies which is why I chose this place for my family and I to enjoy.
I have been there before and understand that cafes have a first come first serve basis. The last 2 people I spoke to said that I cannot order a cake and have it at their shop because it’s very busy. (Note, I did NOT reserve a table) They then proceeded to saying it’s company policy to not order a cake and to have it at their shop. I understand company policies but I wanted to know what the reason was. The last person I spoke to was very dismissive and said that I have to respect that it’s just company policy and basically implied that it’s all I need to know. Company policy. I think as a customer, we deserve and have the right to know the company policy, especially if we want to purchase a cake. The last person I spoke to (was referred to as the boss from the previous speaker) was so rude and I don’t think he understands the concept of customer service. You can have rules and policies in the workplace, but relaying the information and how to care for the customer is the most important.
This experience just left a stain on the business as a whole. (From my perspective) How can you deliver such beautiful pastries and cakes, provide a lovely cafe atmosphere, but speak to customers in such a rude and off putting way? It doesn’t equal up. Very...
