Worst service! Aug 8/18 With all these great reviews I was looking forward to a great lunch here and invited my friend to meet me there. Waitress doesn't understand customer service at all. I'm not that hard to please, say hi, to make me feel welcome, take my order, deliver my order with a smile, check back once to see if I want/need anything else and I'll be happy.
She started by rudely cutting me off when trying to ask a question about a menu item. Said "just give me your drink order! I'm busy cooking...and I'm the only one here!" There was only 6 ppl in the place 3 who were just nursing a beer at the bar...are you kidding me?! She was making food for 3ppl and the oven and cooking area is at the bar so not like She even has to go out of her way anywhere else. Just went downhill from there as you can imagine😒 thankfully we had a good time anyway because of our own company haha! The one star is for the great drink, pineapple and fresh picked sage mojito and the back patio. I would only recommend this place IF you just want a drink or two if you like to nurse and willing to wait for the second one ;) With so many other better choices though I'm not sure why...

I was REFUSED ENTRY/SERVICE by a person who identified himself as HUBERT, the manager. He stated he thought I looked 'suspicious' and did not like how I walked. I am a well dressed, clean shaven individual who is always polite and respectful and NEVER DRUNK. Despite my protests I was denied entry and service. Formal complaint sent to appropriate authorities

Read moreWhere is the best bar in East Van?
The answer is, The Brighton.
I grew up in East Van and went to school steps away from this place and I can't think of another place that encompasses the spirit of East Van but, more importantly, the people of this tight knit neighbourhood.
Walking into The Brighton is an unknown... Who will you meet? Who is waiting for you? Is it an old friend or a new one? It's a bar where longshoremen rub shoulders with bankers, punks and retired soldiers and they all have one thing in common: they call East Vancouver home.
The friendly team at The Brighton is amazing and will always make you feel welcome with a smile, a laugh and a quick drink.
The music is always amazing and you never know what you will get from ska to alt-countrey to punk to cheezey 70's metal tunes.
In short, this place is a good time for good people by good people.
Check it out.
P.S....
