I've had my eye on this spot for a while but I'd always get scared away because of how busy it was. But thanks to the cold weather, no one wants to sit outside anymore, so I finally had an easy shot at getting a patio table today even though the indoor seating was about full (2 pm Sunday). Although I was happy to sit outside, I have to say the inside looked so cozy with the dark wood and comfy-looking chairs. The staff and even the other customers were nice, which added to the warm vibe. It was hard to make a decision on the food since they had a decent selection of vegetarian wraps and sandwiches, and everything looked pretty good. Their menu has Korean influence so they have items that are a little bit different from generic coffee shop fare. I went with a chickpea tofu wrap, the Tom & Jerry cheesecake, and a matcha latte. The wrap was a really good mishmash of flavours, grilled up nicely, and I also felt very healthy and satisfied after eating it. I didn't go in expecting to get the Tom & Jerry because I saw all these reviews saying it was underwhelming, but then I went in and saw it in the case... and it was so cute and it didn't look dry or floury, and the item description did appeal to me. I'm glad I gave it a chance because I thought it was a great cheesecake completely regardless of the fun shape. The lemon flavour was subtle but gave it a nice zing. I'm kind of wondering if the reviewers who said it was dry were just expecting it to be dense and creamy like a regular cheesecake because I actually found this to be more moist than other souffle cheesecakes I have tried. The soft and fluffy mouthfeel was so nice. I enjoyed my matcha latte but noticed that it was quite bitter. I'm not sure if their matcha is just particularly grassy or if it's the particular taste of their almond milk, which I noticed was not a brand I'm familiar with, but if you prefer sweeter things, even just lightly sweet, I would definitely request this sweetened. However, I thought the latte was made very well; the matcha powder was totally smooth and the latte art was pretty. I may have to make another stop here to try more...
Read moreI hate to be this person and nobody's ever called me a Karen before, but it's actually about to change.
My friend and I decided to order off of Uber eats and buy our sweet treats from Wicked because they were having a few buy one get one free deals. Now we know why it was buy one get one free.
First, my friend tried the matcha. She's not picky with her matcha, she likes matcha from your classic coffee shop like Starbucks, however when she took her first sip her face turned green. Let me tell you, it was greener than the matcha itself (because the matcha wasn't green at all, it was almost white). It was also watery, tasteless and didn't provide the much needed caffeine hit. For $5.25 she definitely didn't get her money's worth.
Second, we were truly shocked when we took a bite of our so-called chocolate chip cookies to find that they tasted like COFFEE. They looked nothing like the image and we think we've might've gotten the tiramisu cookies instead. We were disappointed because we're used to chocolate chips and not coffee in our cookies (what if one of us was allergic to coffee??). Also, Uber eats usually notifies you if they have to substitute something in your order. Let me tell you. They did NOT.
Lastly, let's talk about whatever they called the "caneles". DO NOT ORDER. Again I repeat. DO NOT ORDER THE CANELES. They were rubbery and dry at the same time (somehow??), flavorless (even though we ordered the peach flavour) and they were burnt.
Please consider the fact that I never write reviews but this was so bad we had to share our experience. So if you're looking to be shocked and eat nothing that you ordered, give Wicked a try. Otherwise Dairy Queen and other cafes and are right around the corner.
Honestly I expected it to be like the wicked witch of the east but instead it was more like the wicked witch of the west, we do live in...
Read moreI came here with my family to enjoy a cup of latte and some desserts here this afternoon. Today we are lucky to have a nice weather with sun! Sun! Sun! No rain!! It’s dry today. The food and drink here made me feel more joyful.
The coffee shop has indoor and outdoor seats. It was crowded inside. People came to order takeout or eat in continuously. Good for the business owner!
The interior design and decors made this coffee shop very cozy and winter feel. I like it!
They offer different types of coffee beverages, desserts, sandwiches and so on. Lots of varieties here that customers must be able to pick something that they like for sure. The pricing is acceptable and reasonable overall. I am surprised that it’s not too expensive especially they are located in vancouver westside.
We had to park on the street. Luckily we could get a parking spot that the parking meter still had 29 mins remaining! That was even more awesome!
One thing I should mention or recommend is that this coffee shop or server who takes the orders should have asked for the customer’s name. They take many orders for beverages and food. They don’t call the customer’s name. Many customers wait for the beverages but who knows who get la what?! I have this comment because I ordered two latte first. Two customers behind me also ordered three cups of latte. But they got their latte first and I had to get mine before theirs. I was like “huh???” At least I got my beverages. They didn’t miss it but they should have made sure which order should go first; otherwise they just made the customer waited and waited.
Would I come back here for another cup of coffee and food? Yeah! I would but it’s just a matter of time or whether or not I am in the...
