Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar — Restaurant in Vaudreuil-Dorion

My son, boyfriend and I had diner tonight 15/07. My son loves ribs so he ordered the ribs from the kid’s menu, my boyfriend the bavette and I took the spinach dip to share as I’m not a big eater. The ribs were extremely dry, the flavour was ok, they normally use the same bbq sauce, it’s good but even that couldn’t save the dry, reheated, overcooked ribs. The bavette was pretty good, the piece of meat was cooked medium rare and had chimichurri sauce, definitely not authentic but pretty good for a chain restaurant, it came with mashed potatoes and vegetables which were ok. But the spinach dip with chips was absolutely horrible, the chips were uneatable, extremely stale, when I told the waitress all she said was that they came in a big batch and she could bring me some more of the same big batch. Of course that didn’t solve anything as they were just as stale. Having worked with paying customers myself in the past I would have never charged a paying customer or at least offered to change the dish, neither of those were offered and I would definitely not go back. At the price that we pay to eat out, the food could at least be eatable, most of our dishes were still full, except for my boyfriend’s so the waitress could definitely tell they were not to our liking. Came in with a big group, two people found hair in their food, wrong orders were given to multiple times and when waiters were told it was wrong they insisted they were the right order (another waiter confirmed it was the wrong order later). Two people found hair in their dishes, dishes were sub par yet expensive, several dishes were served with avocado so hard a fork could barely pierce it (with the outside skin on it too). Additionally, two people ordered the same dish from the menu and one was noticeably worse than the other. Bills were extremely miscalculated. People were charged for things they did NOT eat and other people were not charged for things they did eat. One of us (an ex-waitress) even calculated their billing mistakes and how to fix them, yet when we received the bills again they had only seemed to increase the price without fixing any errors. We also waited almost an hour for the bill and another 30 minutes for the “recalculated” totals. I am extremely disappointed, ate a subpar meal with gourmet prices and ended up spending 4 hours at a dinner that was only meant to be 2. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. WORST...

So many good things can be said about my experience at this Baton Rouge location last night. The service we received was professional, friendly and attentive. The food was modern, well prepared and nicely plated. There were lots of options for shared appetizers, diverse main course selections and a desserts that were entirely unavoidable. Wines and cocktails were well portioned and very fairly priced.

As an early 2000's fan of Baton and not having visited in the last few years, I was surprised by how much the concept has evolved and yet stayed so familiar. The vibe is much more casual and accessible than the collared shirts and white apron image of earlier years while still being elite and delivering the "nice night out" feeling that we seek. Having not looked to Baton Rouge as an option for the last little while, I don't know how we could go anywhere else and not be let down. Baton Rouge Vaudreuil exceeded all expectations and I cannot...
