I took my husband here for a surprise dinner for his birthday, it is now our #1 go to spot. The food is amazing. Atmosphere was romantic for two, calm and enjoyable for groups. Everything we ordered were phenomenal, they tickled our senses. The presentation, the scent and the taste are just out of this world.

My braised deer ossobuco was tender and bursting with flavor even the exploding green peppers were a welcomed surprise , the creamy blue cheese snails and mushrooms were delightfully exquisite, this coming from someone who hates blue cheese. The raspberry coulis cheesecake, smooth and velvety. I've never had one like it.

My husband enjoyed his medium rare bison flank, he was fascinated as to how did they cook it so perfectly from end to end. It was tender and full of flavor. He had the house-made foie gras, the taste of each component complimented each other in ways that made his taste buds dance. The carrot cake didn't last long in front of him, he loved it, the cream was heavenly.

I had almost forgot to mention the lobster tail. It was an excellent addition to our meals. It was exquisitely tender, with succulent, buttery meat that melts in your mouth. Perfectly cooked and delicately seasoned, exploding with sweet, ocean-fresh flavor, enhanced by delicate seasoning.

We always tasted each other's orders, I always give him the first bites of my food and I of his. That's how I'm able to describe his meal.

Our server was super sweet and very polite, which made our experience so wonderful. The service was very well executed, front appetizer to dessert, they did not miss a beat. We didn't bring our own wine because we don't drink with every meal, but the trou Normand was a pleasant alcoholic palette cleanser.

Le Charleville, you have ruined all other restaurants for us. You have set the bar so high, anywhere else feels disappointing. Stephane Boudreau, thank you and your team for making this evening a wonderful and unforgettable...

We absolutely loved our evening at Le Charleville, where we decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The atmosphere on the terrasse was lively as every table was full. Four stars only because it was a bit noisy and our table shook any time someone walked by. The food was melt-in-your-mouth perfect - and that’s not just the sorbet!! I had the bison tataki, thin slices of buttery seared bison on a bed of arugula with a mix of flavors and textures for dressing. Hubby had the beef gnocchi, which he found to be excellent. Second course was a strawberry sorbet with gin - tasty and refreshing! Main course I chose the Mussels Marinière with fries. The broth was rich and briny with a hint of garlic. The fries were cooked to perfection, a light crisp on the outside and sweetly tender on the inside, and lightly seasoned. My husband had the lamb chops, which he described as “some of the best he’s ever had”. We finished with dessert (of course). My salted caramel creme brûlée was an interesting variation, with the salt balancing the sweetness of the rich custard. Hubby had the blueberry cheesecake which was also excellent. The “bring your own wine” feature allows you to keep the bill within reason. Service was fantastic as the duo covering the tables outside worked very well together. Service was prompt, friendly, and the food arrived hot! As someone food intolerances (gluten and lactose) I was in good hands as there are many GF options on the menu and the sous-chef came out to discuss my menu choices to make sure all would be ok. All in all, an...

I've riden my bike by this attractive restaurant for years and finally convinced my wife to go. And, I was not surprised that the food and service were as excellent as charming the restaurant looks. We ate inside, where the decor and ambiance really make you feel like you are in a Belgian country inn. You can also eat on a very spacious outdoor terrace. My entree was bison tartar and my main was oysters in a coconut milk sauce. My mother had escargot followed by an incredible filet mignon. Impeccable dishes and the portions are very generous. This is why we visit restaurants, right? Because there is no way you can make food taste this good at home. This is fine dining without all the fuss and pretence. Excellent service with the exact amount of time between courses. I had a lime tarte for dessert and my mother had a caramel cheesecake. There are gluten free and vegetarian options on the menu and they are well indicated. And, the other bonus; bring your own wine and beer. 5 people had 3 course meals and coffees for less than $300 including a generous tip. ...

Charleville A quaint apportez ton vin locale in Old Dorion Restaurant Le Charleville was a originally a all you can eat mussels restaurant which transformed towards a more standard menu. As the majority of its menu is created using local, fresh produce, it serves as a nice exemplar of Quebec cuisine. A 4 service table d’hôte menu offers an appetizer, un trou Normand, a main, plus dessert. Delicate house-made fois gras with the right tartness of legumes, mussels, and other apps whetted appetites all around. A very crisp and cold Trou Normand cleansed the palate and set the stage for Mains- pieces de résistance which included sumptuous cerf, filet mignon, to name a few. Classic crème brûlée and chocolat mi-cuit to close a delicious and memorable dinner. Parking onsite and on the side street, covered patio is perfect for summer evenings. While the restaurant and terrace themselves are a bit fatigued, service is slow, and smokers smoke wafts from the street inwards, it is worth visiting relative to other Dorion offerings.
