I’ve been to a lot of A&W‘s over the years and usually they’re pretty uninspiring, but this one is particularly uninspiring. There was a deal on the app for $8.99 that included a teen burger fries and a drink and unfortunately the app kept giving me an error message so I had to go into the restaurant which is inside a gas station and have them scan the coupon. I also asked the lady if I could get that burger without seasoning salt since on the app that is one of the customization points. She basically said there is no seasoning salt on the burger. I also asked for the fries to be fresh not warmed over in 20 minutes old which sometimes happens. This was at 12:30 noon and one of the employees was just sitting on a stool, checking your phone I guess on break you figured they’d have more than one person behind the counter. Not the case. I also asked for a diet root beer, which was the weirdest tasting root beer I’ve ever had. I’m not sure if it was a dirty line or too much water or combination of some other soft drink mixed in with it, but it didn’t taste anything like any A&W non-sugar root beer I’ve ever had. I buy the canned A&W diet root beer and it is light years better. The Burger King and I drove off and had to eat it on the on the way home, but the burger itself was swimming in ketchup and mustard way way too much. Also the burger to me felt cold so clearly this thing had been sitting there for a while, either in the warming tray or Somewhere else. I would say don’t expect any high-end restaurant experience at a gas station,...
Read moreCame here recently around 11:30pm with my friend only ordering a burger and a medium sprite from the drive thru. The guy who took our order repeated the order to us and everything was right, we proceed to pick up our order and paid, however still waiting for the sprite. When we asked for the sprite he told us that we didn't order it, while looking in the bag we noticed that there were fries in there when we never ordered fries.
I told him that we didn't order fries and instead ordered a sprite. He argued with us saying "I confirmed your order you ordered fries", we went back and forth on this and he continued to argue with us holding up the line. When we asked to get a sprite (our original order) instead of the fries he said that had to separately charge us. Which was absolutely ridiculous as this was a mistake made on his end.
There was no reason to argue with us in the first place. As someone who used to work in customer service, the correct thing to do was to simply apologize for the confusion and just give us the sprite. Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking for free handouts. But when instances like this have occurred at other fast food chains and they made a mistake on THEIR end they would normally just apologize and remake the order...
Read moreI usually go to this location if I'm craving something late at night and it usually is never a problem and the staff is always nice. However last week I went with my family to take advantage of the 3.50 teen burger special and was met with such rudeness. About halfway through ordering a family member changed his mind and wanted to change his order which I quickly informed the drive thru employee. There was a bit of confusion which was understandable but then the manager (I assume) comes on the com and says he will take my order. He was especially condescending towards me saying I was confusing all of his staff. He lectured me over using the words "combo" instead preferring I say "fries and a drink" so I "don't cause more confusion". He continued to talk to me as if I was some confused child and I nearly cancelled my whole order out of disbelief of how I was being treated. I ended up getting my burger (on which there were some mistakes) and leaving. I don't usually post reviews, but I feel like this had to be said. Management here needs to learn how to respect...
