Bomond Restaurant — Restaurant in Vaughan

I rarely write a review but this time I was compelled to share my experience so the restaurant management uses this opportunity to improve.

We prepaid $613 per couple for 12 people for a New Years eve Dinner last night. This was our first time booking this type of event with Bomond restaurant based on recommendation from people who actually dine at this restaurant. My only comparison is to previous New Years celebrations with Babushka restaurant and does not reflect on every day dining experience with Bomont restaurant.

Quality of Food. We were greeted with the spread of cold cuts, an array of Costco frozen appetizers, defrosted shrimp and cheap vegetarian sushi. It felt like a cheap Chinese buffet. We hoped the food would be better at dinner but it only to be disappointed. Appetizers at the table initially were ok but were very limited. Caviar was smaller grain than usual which is probably not even salmon and was very fishy. The final dinner was absolutely inedible. Polenta was cold or frozen for most people. The steak and chicken was cooked inconsistently. Some people had under cooked chicken and my steak was not even cooked or seared...it was just raw steak covered in sauce. (I included the photo). Babushka restaurant food quality could not be compared to last nights experience because Babushka food was actually a 5 atar experience with higher quality fresh ingredients.

Quantity. All I can say is that this was an absolute disappointment. Unlike Babushka were the food was plentiful, this time we were shocked that some of the people at the table didn't even get to try a few dishes. There was only a tiny jar of Caviar per 12 people. There were only 1 rib of lamb chop per person. Only 1 cube of cooked Salmon per person. Desert was only a small bite per person and no selection like we are used to at these type of events. Through out the night people had to go to the lobby to get left over appetizers that were left out for hours because people were hungry. Not what you would expect when you pay this much.

Service was poor. There was not enough staff. They were overwhelmed, unprofessional and sometimes rude. Dirty plates barely got cleaned up through out the night and kept piling up at the table. Some people had no Plates and had chase down the staff to remind them several times to replenish drinks or get missing items. Some of the appetizers in the lobby didn't have utencils to pick up the food so the guests used their hands to pick up the food. At times there was barely any place in the lobby for dirty plates some guests just started putting used plates with partially consumed food on the food trays which is unsanitary. Coffee arrived 30 to 40 minutes after desert. Cream and sugar 20 miniutes after coffee. Bathrooms were barely cleaned throughout the night.

Entertainment was very limited consisting of only few people. It was just average and okay.

I understand that this event was not at the restaurant and was held at the hall but this experience was very disappointing relative to the money we paid. Please use my comments as an opportunity to improve next years New Year experience for...

Celebrate wedding. This place is all about presentation and the wow factor. Curb appeal They start to amaze you from the moment you arrive. They install a huge screen on the entrance window and display the names of the couple and the wedding day. I was so surprised right at my arrival when I saw that.

And then you open the door and you see a very modern, elegant venue with luxurious finishes & features. And the smell is so fresh and clean. I hate the smell of old carpets and food in other banquet halls. And this was probably my selling point - the fresh scent. The venue just recently did renovation with a new floor, white walls, and a gold wall which is great for the pictures. And this floor with a light show at night looked fantastic.

We met with Stas. He explained to us his business approach as the owner and he listened to our vision and needs of the day and I started to trust him right away. He is a very honest, open, and friendly person. And I respect how he manages his business. Everything is working like a Swiss watch. Everyone knows their role and doing their job in the best possible way. Another very important factor in selecting this place as a venue was food. And of course, we go for the best. As an owner and chef, Dima is very well known for creating art pieces with food and we were spoiled with all the dishes he created for us. He made the menu with us and he called 2 days before the wedding to go over the menu again and this phone call was very important for us. Service was outstanding. All the waitresses were very polite and nicely dressed. They kept our tables clean and organized the whole night. Always taking care of drinks and water.

And of course entertainment. We were lucky to have him as our MC/DJ Eliran. He was phenomenal. He is the most talented, professional, energetic, and positive person I’ve ever met. His smile fascinates. We really appreciate his talent as a musician. On our first meeting he created a timeline for the night by minutes according to our wishes and followed the scenario. It was very helpful and made me feel comfortable. Eliran and J Stixx brought so much energy and did an awesome job in bringing the hype. We had dry ice, a light show, fireworks, and a projector. I noticed it was a separate person who was probably responsible for light and sound. The owners invested a fortune in technology. I am a wheelchair user. And this place met my needs. Wide entrance door and accessible washroom. Thank you for thinking about the needs of people like me.

We were treated as royalty.We still keep getting compliments. Thank you to the whole team for making our wedding day perfect - we will always be grateful...

I recently celebrated my first son’s birthday at Bomond Restaurant, and I am absolutely speechless about how incredible the entire experience was! From start to finish, everything was flawless—from the venue, the service, the food, and the overall atmosphere.

Venue & Ambiance The first thing that amazed me was how stunning the venue is—beautifully designed, modern, and easy to navigate. The lighting system is out of this world! You truly have to see it in person to understand how breathtaking the ambiance becomes with their professional setup.

Exceptional Service & Coordination From the moment we first spoke with a Bomond representative, everything was effortless. Their team is incredibly professional, well-organized, and genuinely helpful. They provided a vendor list for everything we needed—DJs, photographers, lighting technicians—you name it, they had it. Planning an event here is stress-free because they handle everything seamlessly!

Food & Dining Experience The food was absolutely phenomenal! They offer a wide variety of dishes, and every item was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What stood out was how they managed the event space—they split the venue into two sections:

First, they welcomed our guests with champagne in a separate area, creating an elegant start to the evening. Then, when it was time for the main event, they opened the curtains, revealing a beautifully set dining area. This transition added a unique and special touch to the celebration!

Entertainment & Atmosphere The DJ was super engaging and professional, even coming to ask for our son’s name to personalize the music and announcements. The energy never dropped—it was an ongoing party from start to finish!

The staff was also incredibly attentive—constantly checking in, clearing plates, making sure drinks were always available, and ensuring everyone was having a great time.

Convenience & Parking One of the best parts? Parking was super convenient! There was plenty of space, making it easy for guests to arrive without stress.

Final Thoughts Bomond Restaurant delivered an unforgettable experience. They made everything easy, enjoyable, and affordable for us, ensuring that my wife and I could truly relax and enjoy the celebration. If you’re planning any event—whether it’s a birthday, wedding, or corporate gathering—this is the place to go!
