California Sandwiches — Restaurant in Vaughan

Came in for the first time and last time. Took a while to get service when there were no customers, which was 3 in the afternoon. Finally, I ordered 2 veal sandwiches for takeout. The girl with long dark hair on the outside window was busy talking about her evening the other day and left my sandwiches sitting and getting cold. She continued to talk to the staff in the kitchen in the opposite window, turned around and looked at me, and continued talking. Someone in the kitchen told her to wrap the sandwiches, for I was waiting. She wrapped my sandwiches slowly and continued her conversation. She finally finished talking and gave me my sandwiches. Got home unwrapped the sandwiches and the breading on the veal peeled off and no vegitables on it. It was cold and dry. The veal was tough. Sandwich sizes either regular or mini with extra toppings (roppini, mushrooms, peppers, cheese, etc) at an extra cost. Deluxe version includes lettuce, tomato and mayo. Maybe it's me but it seems many sandwich shops are now charging extra for normally what was included lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc; baahh

Ordered the regular steak & onions. Steak was thinly sliced in a tomato base sauce, more like a sliced beef sandwich instead of steak. Nice beefy flavor profile and the onions were firm.

PAYING FOR A SANDWHICH AND GETTING ALL MEAT!!! Have always been a fan of California sandwiches. My favorite thing on the menu is the mini chicken sandwhich - always my go to. Lately, they have changed their buns and they were terrible! The buns were hard as a rock and a lot smaller than they used to be. When I complained about the bun, they told me that it was the new buns they use now and there was nothing they could do. The bun covered less than half the chicken. It was falling out everywhere. There were certain bites that were also very spicy on the chicken, though I asked for it sweet. I am allergic to spice and began coughing from the spice. Just a terrible, terrible experience.
