Pho Metro Vaughan — Restaurant in Vaughan

Have been going here for years. My family has been a loyal customer super disappointed with a recent visit to the restaurant. I had placed an order for pickup for my family and was very clear about what I ordered as there has been confusion with ordering before. My mom went to pickup the food. She also knew the owner as she’s been there plenty of times before. They gave my mom the wrong takeout order even after she confirmed our order with them. They said yes it’s the right one. By the time she got home and we opened the bag we realized that we were given the wrong order. Rather than the 3 dishes we ordered we received 4 dishes and saw that we had someone else’s order. Coincidentally enough the order had 2 dishes that we ordered in it. My mom immediately called after telling them of the mistake, to which they said they would issue a refund for the difference. My mom also was going to go back to pickup the 3rd dish and bring back the other 2 dishes that we did not order. She told them she was going to eat first and then come as it was a 20 minute drive to get there and she just got home. When she went back they gave her a very hard time. They blamed her for the mistake and said it was her fault. They refused to pay her the difference back. And told her that she came too late even though the person on the phone said they’d issue a refund for the difference. My mom also told them on the phone that she would come later as she was going to eat. They told my mom in store that she brought the food back too late. They said they “had to make new food” for the customer that ordered the food that we had mistakenly taken home. To which my mom said that they shouldn’t even be giving customers the food that we took home as it isn’t sanitary nor safe for other customers. After much debate and fighting they issued the refund.

Will not be going back as I no longer trust them with my food. Who knows how many times this kind of confusion has happened before and how many times have I taken home food that went home with another customer? Seriously disappointed and super upset. This was my favourite comfort food. But after this experience and hearing them say that they were going to give the food that I had taken home to another customer,...

It’s our first time eating at this place and maybe my last. The place was Very neat and clean, though a bit crowded and too noisy, probably because it’s lunch time and most of the table are occupied. The food was delicious and its fair price. What is my 1 star rating is the server, it’s too hard to communicate in English. We can’t understand each other. As we order 2 large of soup and another 1 Extra large of different kind of soup to share. For a group of 6. Aside from that, we also ordered 3 different kind of small side order. The lady server/ owner came and we asked her if this small side order are with rice already and she said yes. So, we order exactly what it said on the menu, 1 pork chop, 1 grilled chicken and 1 beef brisket. The 2 side order came without rice and they said rice is separate order, okay...though that’s not what she said in the beginning. So we Order separate rice. But I was waiting for the beef brisket, and finally I asked them that it didn’t arrived yet, and he said it does. The beef brisket they mean was also in a soup, they give to my friend when she asked for an extra empty bowl. So clearly there’s mis-communication and understanding there. And on my part, i don’t get it for the side order “beef brisket” exactly on the menu, was in a soup. That the soup menu was at the first page. The side order was at the last page. And why would I order another beef brisket in a soup that we got 2 large and 1 extra large to share already. We tried to explain and argue but there’s no point. They can’t understand and can’t express well. It’s the downside of the business if you can’t communicate well. Too bad! I don’t think I...

Decent food, disappointing service! We went over last Friday for the first time with friends and were completely disappointed with our experience. Right from the get go we had to ask for everything, ask for plates, ask for tea cups, ask for chopsticks, ask for water… Once we placed our order, a few in our group were served their dishes while it seemed that the rest had been forgotten. Again, we had to ask our server where our order was. We were told that the kitchen was very busy, even though people who came much after us got served before us. Eventually I did get served a dish, which was placed on my table for a few minutes only to be told that the dish was not mine and was for another customer. So that dish was picked up from my table and served to another customer. So much for Covid protocol! Our orders showed up some 20 mins or so later, which meant that the ones who were waiting for us now had a cold dish. I had ordered a small spicy satay chicken pho which I actually quite enjoyed. The soup was spicy and flavorful, with a good balance of heat. We had also ordered shrimp fried rice which was okay. Food was hit and miss for the rest in our group. Some enjoyed it, others were left unimpressed. The service was the real let down right from the beginning. We had to ask three different people for water over a 20 min period before it finally showed up. Water, of all things! I don’t see myself coming back here, which is a shame as the place was recommended by friends and we drove 30+ mins...
