Me and my fiancé came here on a Monday due to many Italian restaurants in the Woodbridge area that are closed on Mondays. We were greeted properly and told to choose wherever we'd like to sit. We ordered rice balls to start. These were the worst rice balls I've ever had. You can tell they aren't fresh at all. The inside was cold, mainly the vegetables were cold. I told our waitress and she offered to remake them but I refused and said I didn't want them at all (because I was worried they'd still come back cold). I was pleased that she gave no issues to take it off the bill. What really upset me was she came back and said "the chef checked them and said they are hot". My concern is what sort of chefs they have back there. How can you assume they are not cold without tasting it? Obviously the actual rice ball will appear to be warm but that doesn't mean the vegetables aren't cold. You'd have to actually eat it to be able to notice. She made me feel like I was lying. My fiancé also found it cold. The waitress should've never even brought it up. At that moment I felt like leaving but I felt bad for the business and didn't want to completely waste their time and resources so I decided to stay and ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and my fiancé ordered the margarita pizza. The pizza tasted like a frozen pizza (not good at all) and the chicken parmigiana was extremely average. Chicken was tough and bland. The pasta was decent. Overall, not a great experience and will not be returning. If you're looking for good Italian food, please avoid. I feel so bad for the people who invest the money into these places and hire people who are incompetent. As a business owner myself, I could never...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of taking clients out for lunch at Cucinetta Italian Casual Restaurant, and it turned out to be an exceptional choice. From the moment we were greeted until our departure, the service was impeccable. Our waitress was not only pleasant but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering great suggestions that enhanced our dining experience.
We started with an array of appetizers - the calamari, coconut shrimp, and burrata with cherry tomatoes. Each dish was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality, with flavors that were both sophisticated and comforting. The calamari was breaded lightly and crispy, the coconut shrimp had the perfect balance of sweetness and crunch, and the burrata was creamy and fresh, paired beautifully with the sweetness of the cherry tomatoes.
For my main course, I opted for the arugula salad with chicken. It was a delightful choice, with fresh greens and a chicken that was seasoned and cooked to perfection. It's rare to find a salad that stands out in memory, but this one certainly did. My companions chose a variety of dishes, including a prosciutto panini and the veal sandwich. Each received rave reviews for their freshness, quality, and the skill with which they were prepared.
Our lunch at Cucinetta Italian Casual Restaurant was not just a meal; it was an experience that left us all impressed and satisfied. The attention to detail, from the preparation of the food to the service provided, made our visit memorable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a casual...
Read moreThursday night was date night, and we were craving pasta, so we checked out this spot. When we walked in, the place looked amazing—I especially liked the wine display. Our server brought the menus and returned shortly after. We asked about the tiramisu, and she told us it wasn’t made in-house but didn’t share where it was from, which was a bit disappointing.
We started with a sweet beet salad, which turned out to be the highlight of the meal—fresh and delicious. My partner ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio, which was good. I had the Penne Chicken in Rosé sauce; it was just okay. My partner had the risotto and enjoyed it. I also noticed there was no fresh parmesan offered for the pasta, which felt like a miss.
As we were finishing up, the server dropped the bill without asking if we wanted dessert. We waited a bit, hoping someone would come back so we could order, but no one did. So, we decided to go elsewhere...
