Krave Indian Restaurant in Vaughan, offers a satisfying dining experience with a variety of flavorful dishes that bring a touch of Indian cuisine to the table. Below is a detailed review of the dishes we tried during our visit:
Chole Bhatoore (3.5/5): The Bhatoore were soft, fluffy and complemented the rich and flavorful chole. However, while the dish was enjoyable, it lacked the deeper, robust flavor typically found in the black chole served with Bhatoore in Delhi. The comparison with the authentic Delhi-style black chole reveals a slight shortcoming, but overall, it was a satisfying dish.
Vegetarian Thali(3.5/5): The Veg Thali was a delightful combination of unique flavors, offering a diverse range of dishes. The sev sabzi stood out with its distinct texture and taste, while the gatte ki sabzi was a flavorful nod to traditional Rajasthani cuisine. The Panch Ratna dal provided a balanced, hearty flavor that perfectly rounded out the meal. Overall, the Veg Thali provided a rich and authentic Indian experience with a well-curated selection of dishes.
Non-Vegetarian Thali ( Halaal) (3.5/5): The Non-Veg Thali also delivered a great dining experience. The standout elements were the Laal Maas, which had an intense, spicy flavor typical of Rajasthani cuisine, and the White Chicken, which was tender and creamy with a delicate balance of spices. Both dishes were rich and hearty, making the Non-Veg Thali an enriching and fulfilling choice for meat lovers.
Pav Qeema (Star of the Show)(4/5): The Pav Qeema stole the spotlight during the meal. This dish was reminiscent of homemade comfort food, with perfectly cooked qeema blended with peas (matar) and potatoes (aaloo). The flavor profile was mild but deeply satisfying, with a homely touch that made it extremely enjoyable. The soft pav (bread) paired wonderfully with the qeema, creating a dish that was both comforting and delicious.
Other Sides( Raita, Chaas,Saffron Rice and Roti) also complemented the thalis very well.
We also tried Shahi Tukre which were just ok. I will not recommend.
In summary, Krave Indian Restaurant excels in delivering homely, authentic Indian flavors in a comfortable setting. While the Chole Bhatoore could benefit from a more authentic black chole preparation, the Veg and Non-Veg Thalis were excellent, and the Pav Qeema was a delightful surprise that made the meal memorable. Overall, Krave is a great spot for those looking to enjoy a variety of Indian...
Read moreI recently visited Krave Indian/Rajasthani Restaurant with a few friends after seeing their dal baati hyped up on Instagram. We were excited to give it a try and drove all the way from Etobicoke. But let me tell you this place turned out to be a massive disappointment and an even bigger waste of time.
When we arrived without a reservation, we were told there’d be a 45-minute wait. Fine, not ideal, but we decided to wait outside since the restaurant doesn’t even have a waiting area (because apparently providing basic comfort isn’t a priority here). After freezing for 45 minutes, we called to check on our table, only to be told, “Just 15-20 more minutes.” Okay, annoying, but we stayed patient. Fast forward another 20 minutes still no table.
At this point, it had been a full hour, so I called again, and that’s when the real attitude started. The person on the phone said, “If we promised you, you’ll get a table. But we can’t kick people out.” Excuse me? Nobody asked you to kick anyone out; we simply wanted to know if we’d ever get seated before the restaurant closed. His tone was dismissive and rude, as if we were an inconvenience for expecting basic communication.
By 9:30 PM, it was clear we weren’t getting seated anytime soon, so we left. Honestly, it felt like we were doing them a favor by waiting in the cold, and they couldn’t even show the courtesy of being upfront about their inability to accommodate us.
Here’s the thing: I’ve worked in hospitality, and I know what good service looks like. If you can’t handle walk-ins, just say so! Stringing customers along with false promises and vague “20 more minutes” excuses isn’t just unprofessional it’s downright disrespectful. A little honesty would’ve saved us time and frustration, but clearly, this place doesn’t value its customers.
Krave may have decent food (I wouldn’t know since we never got to eat it), but their service is an absolute disaster. If you’re considering going, do yourself a favor: don’t. Unless, of course, you enjoy being treated like an afterthought and waiting in the cold for a table that might never materialize. For a restaurant with “Krave” in its name, they sure don’t seem to crave professionalism, courtesy, or basic decency....
Read moreToday, I have visited Krave Indian restaurant and writting this long story while returning back to home without any wait because I was really mesmerized by looking at the reel on the instagram and really excited to try their Onion kachori and Dal- Bati Churma hence reached there at sharp 3 pm. i was really happy and can't wait to taste so I gave order for Onion Kachori and Dal- bati churma, also clarified that Are you giving Dal spicy or medium spicy they told that it comes medium spicy and you can add GARLIC CHUNTNEY to make it spicy I was like great. Within 2 minutes of the order, they informed that ONION KACHORI is not available so I thought that just they are starting their day and preparing some dishes hence I asked them that can you serve it after half an hour she said " it will take more than that time" so I told that take my order for 4 Onion kachrori, if that will be ready till I complete my meal, I'll take out. This is not the end of the story, the BIGGEST SURPRISE WE GOT AFTER WAIT OF 45 minutes, that THEY HAVE NOT GARLIC CHUTNEY AVAILABLE TO SERVE US AT 3:45 pm. So, we have to accept our order without GARLIC CHUTNEY. This is really really unbelievable that a restaurant can't serve the one of the main chuntney in their FAMOUS DAL- BATI CHURMA DISH. Unfortunelly, we got our order at 3:50 without garlic chuntnry and semicooked Bati, here I am attaching photo of semi cooked bati which is totally unacceptable. This is really horrible experience at KRAVE INDIAN. If the management of this resturant reading my review, I am sorry to write this long story about your restaurant but you guys have disappoint me very badly, and one more thing that if you are not fully prepared even at the time of opening of your restaurant, Please inform it in advance so customer can think before placing order. I hope you will take it positive and make require changes to give pleasant experience to your...
