Danny Greek Grill Express — Restaurant in Vaughan

Decided to try this place using UberEats on Dec 30, 2022. Order lamb dinner, rib dinner and mango cheese cake for $71. Got a called from the restaurant a couple minutes later saying they didn't have the ribs or the cheesecake that I order and paid for. I said I didn't want to change my order, and since they didn't have the food I requested, I asked the restaurant to cancel the order through the UberEats portal. The woman on the phone said they couldn't cancel it and that I needed to call UberEats. I thought this seems very odd that I would have to call to cancel when they didn't have the food I order. I never had this happen before so I thought I should be able to cancel in the app. Well apparently if the restaurant confirms the order, uberEats thinks that they can provide the food and already started to prepare the order therefore I was charged the full amount for all 3 items ordered eventhough the restaurant called me and said they didn't have the food. I was able to get a refund as an extenuating situation since the woman on the phone at the restaurant clearly lied to me. Uber support confirmed that restaurants can cancelled the order. I'm not really sure how to rate this experience. In the past the food had been really good. Today there was def something missing or lacking. I'm completely understand that food prices have skyrocketed it. However there was something not right. The portion sizes have been cut down by more than half. The chicken soulvlaki have 4 piece of potatoes which were not fully cooked at best they were al dente the chicken dry. The veggies 4 pieces broccoli broccoli 4 carrots. If ppl order hot lunch for kids at school that would be the size. I also ordered calamari grilled def over prices as they hid tha lack of calamari w the pieces of green peppers. These were 17.95 ish for 2 tubes. This was drastically over priced. As I had gone to zizi a few weeks ago and got double as an app. The burger was a child size burger off the reg menu for 15 So while food prices have gone up it shouldn't affect taste. Considering that I spent 70.00 for two ppl. They were left hungry afterwards. Not sure if I want to give them another go. 70.00 is a lot of money. Not sure if it's new management. First time having Danny Greek Grill Express. Ordered via Uber, it was between them or Mr. Greek. Mr. Greek was charging much higher delivery fee and so I said why not give Danny a try. Glad I did.

Placed order around 720-730pm received meal by 8pm. Arrived nice and hot.

Got a traditional gyro with rice and potatoes and a garden salad. Fresh! The gyros didn't stink which is so important, the rice on its own is ok but when combined with the delicious tzatziki and the sauce/oil from the potatoes it tastes really good. Great portions (see pic). Me personally, I like a little extra salt so I added that and a little black pepper for the potatoes.

Also got 2 sticks of chicken souvlaki (individual orders, so 1 order comes with 1 skewer with 3-4 pieces), I might be misremembering since it's been a while but I always thought souvlaki chicken came with sauce on it, this appears to have been cooked with a sauce but it still tasted good. Came with tzatziki on the side which was nice drizzled a little on top and ate with the salad. Tasted great. Also very fresh!

All in all for first time eating here especially via Uber I am impressed and happy to finally have an alternative to Mr. Greeks in the...
