Earls is probably one of my favourite chain restaurants. They’ve really done a great job at revamping their image and their menus since they’ve opened in Ontario. I typically go to the Etobicoke location, which is closer to me and probably my favourite location. I haven’t been to the Vaughan location in a while, but I was in the area running a few errands and decided to stop in with my mom for an early dinner. Reservation was completed on OpenTable and made for 5:15pm. We got there around 5:05pm and waited a little to be seated. Ordered the iced Irish coffee and the roasted corn and avocado dip to start. For the mains, I had ordered the ahi tuna poke bowl and my mom had asked for the Santa Fe chicken salad. These are our typical orders when we go out to Earls. When our orders came, they brought two ahi tuna poke bowls. There must have been a bit of confusion. My mom does not eat raw fish, so I know she wouldn’t have asked for that. From my observations, it seemed as if the team that was working that late afternoon may have been new. I thought this because food was being ran to the wrong tables and forgetting side plates, etc. which is fine, everyone needs to learn. I’ve worked in this industry throughout university, so I know what it’s like. The manager came to the table right away to ask what happened. I couldn’t hear the manager clearly, as the restaurant was loud and she was talking directly to my mom at one point. One of the poke bowls was returned back to the kitchen and we had to wait approx 15minutes for the Santa Fe chicken salad to come out. It really sucks when you have your food in front of you and you want to eat together. So you’re just picking at your food and not trying to eat it in its entirety. The food was very good, as usual. The server did not come by when the food was ran to my table by the chef. Typically the server should come by and ask how are things tasting, can I get you anything else? Just to follow up due to the mishap that happened. When I had asked for the bill, I thought I would have received some sort of discount due to the inconvenience that occurred. There was nothing deducted. I hate to ask for a discount, but due to the frustration and not taking accountability, I did. I received a $10 discount for the meal. I expected way more from Earls. I don’t think I will be returning to this location.

Met some friends for dinner. I was craving their Jumbo Crab Cakes. Our experience at their London, Ontario location was great. Everything arrived on time no crazy wait times for drinks to arrive. I will be trying the downtown location next time. We were seated right away, but our waitress took quite some time to come to the table to take our drink order. When she did come to the table, she was ready to take our meal order. Drinks took waaaaaaay toooooooooo long to arrive. She was the only waitress working our big section of tables. We didn't order any appetizers, only because the time it was taking for our drinks to arrive and didn't want the apps to arrive at the same time as our meal. Ordered Chicken Ceasar salad, jumbo crab cakes x2, burger and fries, cajun chicken and 1/2 rack of ribs. Our meals were luke warm when arrived. They must have been sitting under heat lamps for a while or forgotten. One order of crab cakes were completely forgotten. For dessert, we ordered the white chocolate creme brulee and chocolate cake to share - decent size desserts. The chocolate cake is very rich and chocolate lovers dream. The white chocolate creme brulee is to die for....that alone is 5 star!! You must try that...absolutely divine! We were not happy with the service and our food. We called the manager regarding the bar service and our food quality delivered and the forgotten order of crab cakes. Tara, the manager was very quick in rectifying our over all experience and was very professional and friendly in fixing our disappointing experience. Our waitress Simone and our water server Omar were great. Bar service to make the drinks took waaaaaay tooooo long and food served was not acceptable.

"I'm so glad we came here at this time." Wait time/What time we arrived? We arrived at 9:30pm on a Friday night. It was a last minute decision so we didn't make any reservations. It was super poppin' in that plaza! I realized if we came any later then we wouldn't have gotten a seat. We got seated at the semi-circle booths on the side and I think that is the best seat in the house. Atmosphere? It is beautiful here. It's very upscale looking. It's only one floor and very open concept. It's dim and is a good mix between a sports bar, lounge, and fancy restaurant... if that makes sense. Staff/Service? The staff were so great. The manager kept walking around to make sure we were okay and the servers were very accessible/always walking around. Food? Okay so here's the deal. We didn't get anything on the actual menu. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised that we happened to pop in during their happy hour. Between 3-6pm & 9pm-close is their happy hour. They have such cheap prices for their steaks, pizzas, tacos and fries, drinks, etc. We ordered the margarita pizza was good for $3.50 - can't really go wrong with that. The chicken tacos were just okay for around $9- I just didn't like the cilantro aftertaste. We got the garlic fries with gravy for $3. Lastly, we got the spinach dip for like $5. Everything was super cheap and it kinda blew our minds at how cheap it was considering how nice the interior was... it was a little confusing! But I was surprised and enjoyed my time there.

I dined at the Woodbridge location twice in the last few months.

Food was excellent both time. Honestly great quality. Flavourful, fresh and the menu seems unique.

First time around I was with work colleagues and our waitress was excellent. Good, quick service .. polite. Fantastic despite the place being very busy that evening. Can’t remember her name as that was almost 2 months ago.

This last time around we had a male waiter. I’ll leave out his name to avoid centering someone out specifically. Started off quick, got our drinks and food order right away, got our appetizer quickly. The problem came once our main dish arrived … he stopped by once to ask how it was like you’d usually expect. But after that it was maybe 45 minutes where we couldn’t get his attention. Didn’t even look in our direction when walking by so we weren’t even successful waving him down. It’s like he was purposely putting blinders on to avoid any possible request from us. The table next to us was expressing the same complaint out loud. Another waitress seemed to have noticed our frustration and was nice enough to ask if we need anything.. but we didn’t trouble her. Anyways we skipped dessert and got the bill.. EVENTUALLY. If we ordered dessert we would’ve been there another 2 hours at that rate.

Great location, but despite the excellent food.. the service on our last visit ruined our night and made it awfully painful having to pay over $120.00 for one of our rare night outs

Not sure if I’d be willing to dine at that location again - very expensive considering you might get...
