I recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic establishment "SPARKLY Japanese & Thai" and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed with the ambiance - the mood lighting, unique sculptures on the wall, and the variety of seating options really set the tone for an enjoyable dining experience.
But it wasn't just the ambiance that impressed me - the service was impeccable. The servers were attentive and friendly, ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Speaking of the meal, the food was absolutely delicious. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to see a great selection of vegetarian options, including some delicious sushi rolls and noodles. The Inari Sushi, rice, and noodles were all standout dishes, and I was particularly impressed with how perfectly spiced the noodles were.
However, I must note that while I enjoyed the vegetarian options immensely, if you are a non-vegetarian and love seafood, this place is truly heaven for you. They have a plethora of options to choose from that are sure to satisfy any seafood lover's cravings. But regardless of your dietary preferences, the overall dining experience at this restaurant is truly exceptional.
One thing I appreciated about this restaurant was the portion sizes - they were decent per serving, and you could order as many times as you wished. This allowed us to sample a wide variety of dishes and truly savor the flavors of the menu.
And of course, no meal is complete without a drink and dessert. The restaurant offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and we were delighted to try some of their refreshing options. The mango ice cream we ordered for dessert was the perfect way to cap off the meal.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The ambiance, service, and food are all top-notch, and you won't be disappointed. Whether you're a vegetarian or not, there are plenty of delicious options to...
Read moreI don’t recommend this place. Poor hygiene and bad service!
I visited this restaurant last week for an early birthday celebration for my husband. At first, the ambiance seemed okay, but unfortunately, our experience quickly took a turn for the worse.
While pouring soy sauce onto my plate, I noticed a bug moving in it. I immediately informed the server, who checked, replaced the bottle, and apologized. At the end of our meal, they offered a free cheesecake as a goodwill gesture, even though it wasn’t my husband’s exact birthday. While I appreciated the gesture, seeing a bug in my food was unacceptable, and I expected a more significant discount for such a serious issue. I didn’t want to ruin my husband’s celebration, so I remained quiet at the time, but honestly, I wanted to leave the restaurant immediately.
Additionally, I noticed that the chandelier above the booth where we were seated had cobwebs, which was another clear sign of poor cleanliness.
The food quality was okay for an all-you-can-eat restaurant, but the service was disappointing. The restaurant was understaffed, and we had to struggle to get a server’s attention for every single request. The staff was not particularly friendly, and despite the restaurant being large, I saw three to four staff members standing by the entrance chatting instead of serving customers.
Overall, the hygiene and service need serious improvement. I wouldn’t return or recommend this place unless they make...
Read moreIf you enjoy yelling your order across the table to a server who wishes you ate less, Sparkly is the spot for you.
Let’s start with the innovative ordering system: talking to people. No iPad, no QR code, no app. Just good ol’ fashioned verbal guesswork. Felt like I was back in 2004, only with fewer menu options and more judgment.
The server laughed (yes, laughed) when I tried to order more food at this so-called “all you can eat.” Apparently the concept is all you can eat… within limits we don’t tell you about, but will charge you for later. When we asked what came with certain items, they looked at us like we asked for the secret nuclear codes. Spoiler: the menu doesn’t tell you. It’s a sushi-themed escape room.
We got nickel-and-dimed for overage because “you should’ve known that comes with 8 pieces.” Ah, my bad. I’ll just summon the psychic menu next time.
Selection was embarrassingly limited. You’d think for $60 a head (yes, sixty dollars), they’d toss in something remotely premium or at least memorable. Nope. Two basic rolls and vibes of disappointment.
I didn’t want to tip. Truly. But I was with a polite group. So if you’re reading this Sparkly team — you’re welcome.
There are many better AYCE spots in the GTA that won’t guilt-trip you for having an appetite, won’t leave you confused about your bill, and will actually bring you decent food. Sparkly is not that place.
