Let me start by saying, I have only ever not tipped twice in my adult life - this was one of those times. If you are looking for bad food AND bad service, look no further.
SERVICE - I was in town for work and wanted to grab a decent dinner with a co-worker. We were staying at the hotel next door so it was convenient. We arrived and got pretty quickly seated by the waitress and asked about drinks within the first couple minutes. I just got water and he got a beer - pretty simple. She (Melissa) dropped them off and then disappeared for the next 10 minutes but don't worry, she had time to socialize around the restaurant with all the male only tables. When she finally arrived to take our order, she proceeded to grab the menu from my co-workers hand before he had even ordered. When trying to tell her what he wanted, she started walking away before he was done speaking. We had a couple of side substitutions - one of which was a house salad and she never asked the type of dressing he would like. It took 45 minutes from the time we sat down to when our food came out - at no point in time did she come back to ask about another beer. She dropped the food off, and before the words "can I please grab another beer" could even come out his mouth, she already walked away. While we were eating our food, she proceeded to make her rounds to the male tables, being sure to hug them, sit at their tables, and do anything but her job. To top it all off, she reeked of cigarette smoke. If you ever make the poor choice to visit this place, ensure she is not the one serving you.
FOOD - To say this was edible would be putting it nicely. I ordered the Montreal Smoked Meat Grilled Cheese with no aioli - it was still supposed to come with red cabbage and pickles and according to the image on the menu, a decent pile of meat. I mean come on, for $20 I would hope so. The sandwich was almost comical. There was ONE SLICE of deli corned beef and ONE pickle on each half of the sandwich. Meanwhile, the red cabbage was non existent. I would be embarrassed if my kitchen staff sent that to a paying customer.
OVERALL - The absolute last place I would ever return to in Vaughan. I imagine you'd find better customer service at McDonald's. From the other reviews I have read, anything negative about this women is immediately defended by the owner. However, the fact other negative reviews feel the need to call her out by name, should tell you all you...
Read moreFirst time visiting, nice atmosphere. Service was very good, waitress was attentive. I had a burger and their homemade fries which were very good. My wife had the chicken tacos, but the hot sauce as a bit to spicy.
Update Feb 18/23 - Today was my second visit to this location since my last visit 5 yrs ago and how it's changed, unfortunately for the worst. Food was great for the most part, she ordered fish and chips and the fish was overcooked, otherwise my cheeseburger was great and the couple we were with their meals were great as well.
The service had something to be desired, the waitress was not attentive at all, it took almost 15mins to get our drinks, we ordered 1 appetizer and that arrived in a decent amount of time.
Shortly before we finished the appetizer our waitress took our order and I asked for water for my wife and I, but I thought it was strange we didn't get water from the start or at least offered some.
Good arrived hot and in a reasonable time, once our food was served we all dug in and after that our waitress only checked in twice and I had to remind her to get us waters this is 45 mins into our dinner, which was at 4pm and the restaurant was not busy by any means.
After our meals were done our waitress said she had to cash us out because her shift was over, we asked her to pass our table on to another waitress and she said ok, left and then returned and said she needed to cash us out and couldn't pass our table on but would tell another waitress to take our table.
After 2 hours of enjoying our time with our friends not once did any other waitress come by to see if we wanted desert or more drinks and we wanted to order more drinks, yet no one came by our table.
The service here lacks and is disappointing to say the least. Definitely not what I would have expected.
Not sure if I'll be back to this location, they have some serious issues with guest services.
Let's just say I hope this is a one off experience. I had originally given this location a 4 of 5 stars now I'm giving it an overall score of 2 all due to the service that...
Read moreLast week I was at your restaurant with a group of my colleagues. We were staying at the hotel next door for a sales meeting. I work for a multi billion dollar company. The group consisted of my coworkers, managers, senior vice presidents. We were served by a woman. I didn’t get her name. She had medium length dark, dirty blonde hair. Probably late 40s. It was a Wednesday evening. She came over to our table… asked what we wanted to drink. Everyone ordered beer – I ordered ginger ale. I am not able to drink because of a medical condition. She used that against me and ridiculed me in front of my team saying that I was the only child who ordered pop. Then we ordered our food – I wasn’t very hungry as I drove all day long. I didn’t want to be the only one not eating so I ordered chicken tenders. She again referred to me as the child at the table because of my menu selection. At this point, no one was laughing. We all thought she was incredibly rude and her comments were extremely inappropriate. The food was very good. I really enjoyed it. It’s too bad that she was so unprofessional with her comments. She told us to order a dessert – didn’t ask if we wanted to see a menu or if we wanted anything else. She said you should order this ….. “it’s like crack”. Again – the drug related comment was not well received. This person should not be in food service. She used foul language a few times. One of my coworkers said she did something similar to her a couple of years ago. My boss picked up the bill – if I was paying for my own meal, I would not have left her a tip. I felt insulted and embarrassed. I will not go back next time we are in town. When I go to a restaurant, I expect my server to be polite and courteous. I expect her or him to take my order and then return with what I want. Not to be ridiculed and embarrassed in...
