SUPER OVERPRICED.
For a combo and another burger we paid $44+!!!!!!!!!! Let that sink in. I don't even pay that much at McDonalds for that!
The burgers were okay in my opinion and fries were literally like McDonalds fries - thin.
I asked for no pickles and as they're putting the toppings on my burger, what do I see??.... MF PICKLES!!
Thank the good Lord for watching out for me that day as the crew member re-read the order and took them off. In my head I was like, seriously dude??? You're the one that took our order like COME ON... How hard was that to remember we were the only ones who ordered. No one before or after us. Sigh...
To top that off a poor dad and his 2 sons came after and ordered a few burgers and combo/s.. (RIP to his wallet) and the place started smoking.. I don't even know if the exhaust fan was working but that was only a few burgers and all the smoke just started flowing into the food court it wasn't even going into the fan at all. Surprised they didn't shut down for the day you'd think that'd be a hazard.
Would not recommend dining here unless you actually had money to waste. Please go elsewhere, save your $ and I will say the food is not even special it's just another overpriced burger joint inside...
Read moreIf you find yourself considering Howie's based on its 4.4 stars out of 5 review I urge you to pause and reconsider.
Toronto has some excellent burger joints but Howie's is not one of them.
Howie's charges $16 for a burger combo. This is the same price as Holy Chucks, Burgers Priest, or Big Moe's..... The difference is those establishments serve fresh ground chuck, home-made fries, milk shakes and interesting menu items. Those are the best burgers in the city. But Howie's?
I caution you to manage your expectations when visiting Howie's.
Beef patties come frozen. Once cooked, the meat is chewy. The flavour is surprisingly absent. Be prepared to taste your condiments on bread because the meat feels like it's providing texture only.
If your goal is to simply survive Howie's will pass. If you actually want to enjoy your burger, look elsewhere.
Overall disappointed in the menu offerings and extremely disappointed with the taste.
The only mitigating factors were that service was good and establishment was clean.
Nonetheless, I won't be going back there unless you have me by gunpoint.
And even then I might...
Read moreAnyone who wrote a negative review clearly does not understand what a kosher burger place should be like. As someone who's spent years working in kosher restaurants let me shed some light on Howie T's
The food was fresh and tasty, obviously not fine dining, but good kosher beef about as good as one can come to expect from a $6 kosher burger in Toronto.
Customer service is incredible as always, far better than 99/100 restaurants you'll go to. Liz always seems to go above and beyond for everyone that steps foot inside. Always seeking to make you happy however she can.
As far as cleanliness goes, the place's got every crook and cranny cleaned daily, at least. Always spotless, without exception. Again, better than 99/100 restaurants you'll go too.
Food prices are always a bit more expensive than anyone would like them to be, but it's a small price to pay for a good fast food experience.
Overall,...
