Maple Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Vaughan

I would of never believed until I experienced this myself. I placed my order well over a hour prior knowing it was New Years Eve and what I have read of what has happened in the past by customers, to get a call I am assuming from the daughter telling me that they cannot do 1 item out of my order a hour later in which I said was fine. I asked if the rest of my order was ready and her response to me was we have a lot of orders ahead of you, that wasn't my question. After she answered me that same answer 4 times I said point blank is my order ready yes or no. She replied no and said again that there's many orders ahead. 😤🙄. I am so mad right now bcs I live in Pickering and came all the way down the least she could of done is called to say that it will take longer that is common courtesy but mo I get attitude and gaslighting trying to make me feel bad for the amount of orders they have. I went to Maple Garden once many, many years ago for dine-in but recently visited a few times for takeout and got their "all day combination" specials which consist of 3-4 items in one container. This review will be based on that section of the menu specifically.

There are about 12 different variations you can choose from and honestly these are good but I will say I'm not a fan of how deceiving the presentation is. It's a pretty decent amount of food but the containers have sections so while it looks like you're getting a lot, in reality, it's not as much as it could be.

The food was perfectly fine and I didn't mind the price although I think it could be a bit cheaper due to my previous point. They also could package the items better because there was at least one time I had a container leaking onto everything under it.

Absolutely horrible. We ordered Cantonese chow mein which was not it. Cantonese chow mein is suppose to be a little crunchy and saucy, this dish was neither. The flavour was alright on the noodles but no. The egg fried rice and the spring rolls were GOOD, but you can’t really mess those things up, can you. All the chicken dishes we got, YUCK. So chewy and disgusting. Tasted like it was cooked in old oil and refried from day before with how chewy it was. I will never order from them again.

They do have great customer service tho. I did take out and the cashier was very nice and let me get away with 20 cents off because I misheard the price over the phone and didn’t bring enough cash. I know it’s only 20 cents but some companies are real sticklers
