Great pizza, cold beer and good times before a movie next door.
This is my go to place every Tuesday that I can manage after work, due to their great beer-and-a-small pizza special for just $10.00+tax - amazing! For those folks going out for cheap movie night, it doesn't get better than this, as the Cineplex theater is literally next-door AND you get a discount if you show them your pre-bought movie tickets for that evening!
Pizza is what this place is all about: their menu is extensive, and includes options for both gluten-free and vegetarian diners.I find their small pizzas to be the perfect size for a meal for one, with a good variety of toppings to choose from that they don't skimp on like some places. While they don't pretend to be organic, the ingredients have never upset my stomach and the pizzas are in no way greasy or taste like they've been prepared with cheaper ingredients.
The Brickyard isn't big, but the pizzeria goes quite a ways back and you can usually find seating somewhere inside, though large parties of more than five might find it challenging if it's a busy night. The seats at the front are usually the best ones to take on hot days, as the cool breezes blowing in are quite welcome in a place with really hot pizza ovens. The opposite is true in the winter of course: come here to be cozy! The exposed brick of the interior of the building lens a funky feel to the place, though it doesn't do much for the acoustics which tends towards the loud side.
There's about half a dozen beers on tap, local brews like Phillips and Hoyne, which you can have as part of your daily special if you add one dollar to your bill. every day of the week has a different special and though they don't change often, each one is, in my opinion, a really decent deal. Normally, a simple pizzeria like this would just get three stars from me, but the great value for your dollar adds a star in my opinion, bringing it up to 4/5.
All in all, I enjoy coming to the Brickyard, as it's got great food for the price and the specials are some of the best deals in the city, along with the happy hour specials. It's the exact right place to be before seeing the movie, though you might want to get here at least an hour before your movie starts to get your order placed and enjoy it before your...

Pizza (in store) is great! But bigger and doughy (er), although you have to deal with a staff that clearly does not care at all about you as a paying customer.
Service on the phone is horrible (if you can even talk to someone and aren't put on "hold" while the phone is put down and you hear them talk about music, or who they are dating, or the weather, or just a bunch of gibberish).
If you do get to talk to someone, they are more often than not rude.
All in all, the pizza is just what you would expect, delicious ... but the staff treats like you are an inconvenience at best, and should not be interrupting the social event that they are engaging in.
End of the day if you are drunk enough you won't notice the awful staff. but if you are drunk enough, you ill thoroughly enjoy the pizza.

Read moreUsed to love this place but it seems to have gone down hill in the last few years. I wish they still had soy cheese but that is honestly the least of my disappointments. Place used to have such a good vibe to eat, have a few drinks and catch up with people. The music played in there now is way to loud for normal conversations and instead of being eclectic in its mix of genres there always seems to be seems to be rap playing. The pizza is meh, now. I enjoy pizza without any cheese but the toppings seem to scarce and to just add to things the last few times I find the staff are aloof. Nothing worse than ordering food from a place where the staff make you feel like they are doing you a favour by taking your order and money. Really disappointed enough that I have given up on what used to be one of my all time favourite places to be...
