Good atmosphere, had just straight coffee and an orange loaf with olive oil. Really well priced and good quality coffee. But had an unfortunate experience.

I came around 6 PM on Friday. I came in through the connected office lobby entrance and didn't see any closing times signs from where I came in.

Ordered my things and sat down. The gentleman working behind the counter after I've ordered mentioned to me that he'd be closing soon. I said I won't stick around too long definitely. Two minutes later he asked me to leave. I was still working on my food and coffee but he said I'd be fine to sit over inside the office lobby on one of the benches. The steel doors shut and then I heard the music from the coffee shop get cranked up to a higher volume (I mean hey whatever you do you). But as soon as I sat down in the office lobby I immediately got asked by security to leave. So with my barely touched loaf in a paper bag and nothing else it got soiled in the heavy rain last night :(

If I knew before ordering that it would close soon and that I'd have to take my stuff outside afterwards I would've probably came in on another day and had way better first impressions.

(edit: thanks for your response i'll try it again sometime in...

I had a really negative experience coming here sadly. The atmosphere feels unwelcoming, cold, and trying very hard to be trendy.

The staff were also very dismissive and unfriendly as I felt like I was being judged from the second I walked in and that I was an inconvenience to them (i.e. elevator eyes from some of the staff and harsh tone of voice). It was a Sunday morning so it is likely that they were possibly having a busy rush day which I totally get, but I felt like a burden being there.

The coffee was pretty good but very small and (in my opinion and lacking knowledge of coffee imports) a wee bit expensive. There was also only one person on bar so it did take a good while, but that's completely reasonable considering it was just one person.

I've read through other reviews that their food menu is scarce due to COVID which is also totally understandable so be aware of a limited menu. The ginger molasses cookie was dynamite though and was very very good.

Really disappointing cause I had always wanted to try this place and only left feeling sad and...

Progressive minded coffee spot with an emphasis on sustainability, art and education. The owner cares about the community and an advocate for Victoria to become a better biking city. They carry some fantastic books on the subject as well as a Greener planet.

The seating is very comfortable and spacious with good ergonomics. However the Wi-Fi was lacking that only five down and one up. Those of us who are digital Nomads could really use better wi-fi.

Coffee was very good and I'm hoping it was organic although I didn't see anything listed that way. Unfortunately no pour over and no coffee tonic and no Bulletproof.

The pastries were excellent and I especially loved the peanut butter bar. There were no gluten-free options.

Based on what I saw in regards to the literature on hand, I'd like to encourage the owner to apply for 1% for the Planet and also to strive to become a B Corp.

This is the most important coffee shop...

Their iced latte is just okay if you need a coffee run and there’s no other coffee shops nearby. I also ordered a plain croissant, it wasn’t warm, wasn’t asked if I wanted it warmed up, and it tasted like it was sitting behind the glass for a long time already. Didn’t taste fresh at all. The vibe of the cafe is nice though and the location is amazing. I guess that’s why this cafe is always recommended online. But to be honest, it’s nothing special and would not come back. Lastly, some of the staff (like the girl cashier) didn’t even smile and looked annoyed or something. I don’t know why I even gave a tip (it’s automatic to me even in coffee shops, but this one didn’t deserve it). The barista guy with earrings was nice though.
