I recently had the pleasure of dining at Papa Moe's in downtown Victoria, British Columbia. I decided to try the cheesesteak, and exceed my expectations. The shaved prime rib was tender, flavorful and perfectly complemented by the fried onions and peppers. The provolone and house-made cheese sauce, added a creamy richness that tied all the flavors together. The Demi baguette was fresh and the perfect texture to make every bite delightful.

The fresh cut fries weren’t just any fries. They were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. It was clear that no shortcuts were taken and preparing them, adding to the overall high-quality experience at most.

Overall, Papa Moe's delivered an exceptional meal with high-quality ingredients. It's an excellent place in downtown Victoria to have a outstanding prime rib sandwich. It’s quickly become my go to place in downtown Victoria while I work here for the summer. If you’re in the area and looking for a place that takes pride in its food, I highly recommend giving Papa Moe's a try. by the way, they have an amazing Beef dip prime roast beef sandwich that you just can’t get...

Volta is hands down one of the best breakfast spots I’ve ever been to! The portions are huge and hearty, so you definitely won’t leave hungry. The food is cooked to perfection—every bite tastes fresh, flavorful, and made with love. From the perfectly cooked eggs to the crispy bacon and sides, everything on the menu is a comfort food dream. Their homemade jam is incredible—the perfect sweet touch to any breakfast!

We went as a group, and the staff were amazing—attentive, always making sure our water and coffee were topped up, and genuinely friendly throughout our meal. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and inviting, perfect for breakfast or brunch with friends and family.

I was so impressed with the service and the overall experience. It’s clear they take pride in both their food and hospitality. We definitely will be coming back more often with friends!

If you’re looking for a breakfast place with incredible food, generous portions, and a friendly vibe, Volta is the place to go....

On Wednesday August 30th I had a poor experience. I had ordered a Caesar Salad. I walked up to the counter and waited to order, I asked if the salad had Chicken and they said no. So I ordered the $14 full sized salad and sparkling water.

The person serving me brought me it in a bag as I was looking at my phone and waiting about 5 minutes later. I walked back to my work and looked in the bag and there was no dressing on the salad or even on the side. I could not walk back and advise them as my foot was injured at the time, so a friend of mine who knew the owner went back and chatted with the person who served me.

They claimed to my friend that I had asked for it on the side (I did not. And even if I did, why would it not be in the bag? and if the person serving me know, how come he didn't come after me? I was not walking fast, I was injured). They also told her that they couldn't give me anything in response to fix it.

I ate the salad dry. This salad was not worth $14. I may...

The owner is such a nice person, and the shop has a strong Spanish vibe 🇪🇸. They’re open Wednesday to Sunday from 8 am, and we were lucky to be the very first customers of the day. I ordered the cheese panini and a sandwich—both were absolutely delicious. The cheese panini 🧀 especially stood out, perfectly balanced in flavor, and paired so well with their specialty hand-pour coffee, creating a peaceful weekend atmosphere. For the sandwich, I added mushrooms for an extra $1.50, which turned out to be a great choice—it really elevated the flavor. We also tried the potatoes 🥔, which were a bit salty for my taste, probably due to different food preferences. Overall, this little Spanish street café gave me such a pleasant surprise! Compared to trendy, “Instagram-famous” places, I truly enjoyed having breakfast here much more. I’ll definitely come back next time I travel to the island. Before leaving, we even took a photo with the owner and the chef—such a memorable experience!
