Sure I can explain the whole incident.
First, when I placed the order, we requested the server to send the drinks along with the food. Now when the food arrives, the server informed that it will take a couple of minutes and then drinks would be served. I replied that it is completely understandable and started eating my food. That’s when I realized that the food was “COLD” and waited in the queue again to inform the server about this. The server came after 10 minutes to take our food away and in the meantime I thought I’ll enjoy my drinks and asked the server again for it. After waiting for another 10 odd minutes, our new food arrived but still the drinks are missing. On top of that, the combo ordered was missing couple of items and reminded the server about this. After few minutes, the owner comes with drinks while we’re eating the food and he didn’t ask if it is fine to discuss about the food incident and just started justifying the reason for “COLD” food saying it is a NUISANCE if the customer sends back the food during the rush hours. He was trying to make the customer feel guilty for sending the (COLD) food back. During the whole incident, neither the owner nor the server were apologetic about the cold food, missing items and delayed drinks.
Guys just to give a background, I have been a regular customer for more than 2 years and was completely shocked with the owner’s behavior. Indirectly, I got this message that it is fine to be served “COLD”food out here and it is not appreciated if “FOOD” is sent back.
Also, you can see from the owner’s response (simple + humble manner) = (unapologetic behavior + customer should be apologetic for sending the “COLD” food back and asking for...

Read moreDosa Paragon demonstrates that small, family-run restaurants can provide the most unique culinary and cultural experiences. Preshanth (aka ”Bob") has decades of experience around the world but has now settled in Victoria to provide delicious and authentic cuisine from his native South India. His wealth of experiences include cooking for much larger audiences in corporate venues, but Dosa Paragon is his first in his own digs. The food is terrific. Try the combos, which include specialties like Idly, a delicious light lentil cake that reminds me of comforting white bread — except it’s healthier — served with chutney and a light lentil-based stew known as Sambar. Try the cauliflower pakoras, which are crispy and delicious. Try the scrumptious vada rolls. Do try the special chicken and rice, if it is served that day — a savoury, spicy and delicious “upside down” meal. Try everything. You are unlikely to be disappointed by anything at this order-at-the-counter eatery with simple tables in a bright setting.
UPDATE February 2021
We ordered food to be delivered from Dosa Paragon, and to our delight the food was just as good, if not better, than last year at the restaurant. Dosa Paragon may take the proverbial honey cake for best Victoria Indian restaurant. I know there is some stiff competition, but it’s...
