I had the most incredible experience at Patisserie Daniel when I ordered my birthday cake! The cake was not just awesome; it was pure perfection. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel like a valued customer. Now, let's talk about the cake itself. It was a work of art, both visually and in taste. The attention to detail in the design was stunning, and the flavors were out of this world. Every bite was a delightful journey of flavors and textures. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday cake. Patisserie Daniel's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction truly shines through. I wholeheartedly recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a memorable and delectable cake. They made my birthday extra special, and I'm genuinely grateful for that. Thank you, Patisserie Daniel, for creating such a delicious masterpiece!

There's a lot in this cook street bakery to like. The pastries are great and definitely are on top of many experiences and the cinnamon bun accolades are well deserved! I prefer cream cheese frosting, but the cinnamon bun is among the best buns apart from that that I have enjoyed! It has a lot of cinnamon flavor, layered throughout, and it hits all my boxes for an amazing bite: soft inside with a little chew, and a subtle crisp outside for the textural contrast. The icing I do appreciate. The almond and apple croissant are both just as satisfying, but the best experience is with their sourdough. Over days of eating I have found it not to take on the same hardness as others so it's much easier to continually enjoy it over the week. The thinner crust adds to this perhaps and it maintains a softness with a good balance of tartness from their culture. Would come back many times over!

Patisserie Daniel has been around for ages, I've often driven by it and would see a line up outside before they open their doors. This bakery offers traditional baked goods and breads as well as cakes. We picked up a few croissants and a cinnamon bun. Both croissants are far from the flaky layer upon layers of French croissants, they are more crispy on the outside with a denser interior. However, the flavor and filling was not too sweet and you could really taste the almonds and fresh apples. Now, the star has to be the CINNAMON BUN! WOW, its the softest, fluffiest, ooey gooeyst (?!) cinnamon bun I've had. It's made with brioche dough, moist and you get the cinnamon sugar filling around in each layer. I would definitely go again for just for the cinnamon bun!

We were looking forward to be using Patisserie Daniel to do our wedding cake, we saw many great reviews and designs. We had booked a time in advance to discuss the design, cost, and whether what we want is do-able. Then the day of the SCHEDULED appointment comes, which was today, and we receive a phone call LESS THAN 1 HOUR away from our SCHEDULED appointment, to cancel it. We were advised that they are just "too busy" to carry through with our SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WHICH WAS BOOKED OVER A WEEK AGO!!! I was advised by the gentleman on the phone that "Daniel is just too busy on Saturday's and I never should have booked this is in the first place, call us again in a few months" EXCUSE ME!?! If you should not have booked this, then you should have called me with more notice, We were in the car on the way to your shop when you called, we booked the day off work as you are not available Sunday-Monday, and now we are stuck. Why would we book with a company that cancels on us LAST MINUTE, where is the affirmation that you will not cancel on us for the making of the cake. This is very poor business to do this to a customer with a large purchase, just so that your walk-ins would be accommodated. If we booked an appointment we should get priority as that is what an appointment is for, especially in the times of Covid-19. I say all this because I don't want another Bride to go through the frustration and upset that I have today. I will not be calling in a few months, and frankly I won't refer your company to anyone, I will defer them. You cannot run a business with an associate that doesn't even know what you as the baker needs/is available for. If you were not able to do this in the first place, don't book it, or you know, have decency to call us with more notice...

The staff and Bakers here are amazing. They saved my daughters 4th birthday. The day before her birthday, the company we had originally ordered a cake from cancelled. I picked up this message at 230 am the day of. I called cakes etc as they used to have a machine and thought- maybe they would help. I didn't get through to a machine. Then I remembered an amazing cake from Patisserie Daniel and thought I would call and see If I could leave a message and get them to put something aside from me or if they had anything premade. To my surprise a friendly voice answered my call. The baker was in, he heard what happened to my daughters cake and because they didn't have the ingredients. Guess what? He knew the cake as it was originally his creation! He made a slightly different version of it. I was so happy! Not only would they make me a cake, but the one I wanted. SO.... The next day when I picked it up- he had gone above and beyond. It said "Happy Birthday" and my kids name. It was covered in marzipan roses. It had a really awesome 4 candle on it, princesses and a crown for her and a really amazing bunch of candles. I don't think they know how much I appreciated all they did going above and beyond for my daughters cake. I was teary in the store but I cried later. Thank you Patisserie Daniel. Her whole face lit up at the look of that...

I popped into Patisserie Daniel to pick up a few desserts for a small dinner party. I chose a slice of white layer cake with lemon, a chocolate frangipane bakewell-style tart and a chocolate covered rum ball. I have to say we were in raptures with all of it. They were also very generous in size and well priced considering the quality ingredients used: butter, good quality chocolate, etc. ON this day in the shop I also spied delicious looking butter croissants and frozen croissants you can take home to bake. And an apple pie that was large and beautiful with the glazed apples covering the top (rather than a top crust). All of these items were very reasonably priced. PD's baked goods remind me of the quality baking my grandmother and mother used to make. On my way out, I couldn't resist picking up one of their chocolate chip oatmeal cookies - the perfect consistency and texture with a generous amt. of oatmeal and tons of dark chocolate chips. They don't scrimp on anything here.

Victoria has many excellent bakeries. I think is the top of the heap. A Vancouverite, I will be making a point of stopping by whenever...
