I’ve always considered Mint a safe, inclusive space. However, my recent visit was deeply disappointing and hurtful. I arrived, ordered a drink, and noticed that as the bar got busier, patrons who arrived after me were served immediately while I was ignored( It wasn’t just a delay) —it literally felt deliberate, as the bartender who initially served me with friendliness seemed to disregard me completely as the night went on. I understand that busy nights can lead to delays, but this treatment felt different, especially seeing others served before me, despite arriving later. As someone who works in hospitality, I always appreciate the complexities of the industry, but this felt personal and unfair. This experience made me question whether I truly belong in a place I once felt at home. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how they treat all their patrons, regardless of who they are.

I recently dined at The Mint in downtown Victoria and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! The guest skills of the staff were exceptional and made me feel welcome and appreciated from the moment I walked in. 👍👏 As for the food, I highly recommend the tofu dish - it was simply delicious! 🌱🍲 The dish was perfectly cooked and had a nice blend of flavors that left me wanting more. The chef truly knows how to work their magic in the kitchen. 🤤 The ambiance of the restaurant is also worth mentioning - it was cozy, warm, and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner. 🕯️❤️ Overall, I highly recommend The Mint to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in downtown Victoria. With friendly and attentive guest skills and mouth-watering dishes like the tofu, it's a must-visit destination for foodies and those seeking a memorable night out. 🍽️👌

Knew this place since its opening way back when as it took over the spot of one of my former favorite teenage stomping grounds (Victoria Underground Onramp Cybercafé) but never really had the chance to go in. I made an exception since I saw the sign for their appy hour which is 17:00-19:00 which is refreshingly late considering how I rush out after work to downtown and usually miss it with the bus commute. The double mojito & the chicken poutine are okay, but the momos are amazing. I was recommended chicken which I had but the pork ones taste the best. I like the ambiance and I do see some areas where I do remembered the old days. Perhaps someone should start up old meets from decades past in here. I wouldn't mind having some nostalgia resurfacing in this joint. The bartender's real sweet so don't be shy and go for the bar seating.

One of the greatest little late night hole in the wall I've heard of, it's inside a secret gate and down into the basement. The ambiance is sultry, the size is cozy, the music the DJ plays (yes, a DJ. How he even fits in there I don't know) is a sort of club techno rock and it's fairly loud but it raises the decibels of the chatter to a party level. Its open until 2am. The service was exceptional. I actually only saw one waitress (impossible because it wasn't THAT small) but I think that's due to never having to look around as she was always right there. A bartender delivered our drinks and, call us romantics, but when he went down on one knee to set them on the table, it was positively swoon worthy. I'm sure this was just a random act but he should probably package it. In any case, we were there Oct 25th and the waitress should be acknowledged for such exceptional, warm and cheerful service. Thank you for colouring our visit as a delightful adventure. Foodwise we had a sharing plate - I probably wouldn't order that again because the selection of olives (which were maybe a bit too plentiful) were, for the most part, much too spicy, and the cold cuts, although perhaps authentic, were waxy and tasteless. To me. I loved the dried fruit and roasted nuts, the cheese, and especially the hummus and the bread and crackers that went with it. The Thai wings were crispy, hot and delicious. The sangria was a perfect accompaniment but I might try the specialty rosewater cocktail next time. Next time I hope being my trip to Victoria in two weeks. I'll be alone that time and I think I'll be completely comfortable with that. My hotel is just a few blocks down the street (Capital City Center Hotel - I recommend that too) and walking down this main road doesn't seem too scary...

Had food at Mint Restaurant this summer and promised my self that I would leave a review. I’m not hard to please when it comes to food and I rarely go to the effort of actually reviewing restaurants. Though this time I do feel that I should share my experience. Me and my boyfriend was visiting Victoria for a couple of days as part of our vacation. We had been out for the whole day when we decided to go for food. It was already after 9 pm at this stage, so we were pleased when we found out that Mint Restaurant would be serving food for a another couple of hours. I ordered a chicken soup with noodles. The food didn’t come very fast, but that wasn’t a problem at this stage. When I got my food I realized that the noodle soup didn’t contain any noodles. Well, I told the waitress and she brought my soup to the kitchen again and said that I would get a new one. Mistakes happens, no big deal, although I was getting quite hungry at this stage. My boyfriend had good time to finish his food while still warm before I got the soup, this time including noodles. The problem was that this time the chicken was raw inside, the noodles were absolutely over-boiled and apart from that the whole soup only contained a few pieces of carrot. I started to feel annoyed at this stage and told the waitress a second time. I made sure to stay polite and friendly. I didn’t get any apologies and she did’t ask me if I wanted anything else from the menu. She just brought the soup to the kitchen a second time but this time I didn’t get anything back to the table. At least I didn’t have to pay for it. I do still think that it was really bad service. At that stage most other restaurants were closed so I ended up having my dinner at 7/11 that evening. Will absolutely...
