I sent this email to both the restaurant and corporate on August 2nd and today is September 16th and I have still not heard back. Very disappointed.
Hi. I am reaching out today to share my disappointment with my visit to your restaurant last night (Friday August 1st). We arrived just after 7pm and were told to seat ourselves on the patio wherever we liked. We were a group of 5. No one brought over menus. After a bit of wait our server came over Shayla. Realized we didn't have menus and went and grabbed them for us. She was friendly but obviously a little flustered. We got our drinks, one member of the group ordered a whiskey sour and was brought what we think was a whiskey and coke but no big deal, he drank it anyway and we all enjoyed our drinks. However everything went downhill from there. I ordered the chicken nachos. Shayla upsold me to order them with extra cheese by explaining 'the portion they use is pretty small and customers are always complaining about it' which I thought was not a great way to market the upsell but I didn't mind. Then the nachos came out in my opinion without extra cheese. If they did have the extra cheese that is a very disappointing amount given I paid an additional $2.99 for it. They were also missing the dill sauce, and there was an excessive amount of honey garlic sauce dumped on top. I have had your nachos before (last summer) and they were significantly better. The one couple I was with ordered 2 burgers and the cheesy honey buns as an appetizer. One of the burgers was ordered with no onions or pickles. It came out with both on it, not a huge deal. We picked them off and they said burgers were decent. But the honey buns came out multiple minutes after the burgers, which was not ideal as it was ordered as an appetizer, and when we got them the cheese in the buns was not even fully melted. The final couple ordered a spinach dip and 2 pounds of wings with sweet potato fries. These dishes came out at the same time as the honey buns. The spinach dip was satisfactory. However we had to send the wings and sweet potato fries back as they were very burnt. When Shayla brought back the wings she was apologetic, however she did not check on us much throughout our visit, I understand we were on the patio however you guys were not very busy. We never were given cutlery, and had to ask for napkins and ketchup when we needed it. When we wanted the bills, I went in and asked for them. Now none of these things were huge deals, we were disappointed with the food and not particularly impressed with the service but overall still having an okay experience. But Shayla's behaviour at the end of our meal is what made me feel the need to write this email. We had the table split into 3 bills, I tipped 10% on my bill, and the other 2 members of the group did not tip at all. When we were getting up from the table, after looking at the print outs and seeing what tips she'd been left, Shayla said 'other than the food was anything wrong with service' none of us really said anything at first and then one of us spoke up and said 'it was mostly just the food, we just didn't have a great experience' or something along those lines. To which Shayla replied 'okay well if you guys are not going to tip, please don't come back'. This comment left us all extremely taken aback and unhappy with her service and with St.Loius all together. I am also a server and I understand that not getting a tip can be disappointing, however that is a completely unacceptable thing to say to a guest. She is getting paid hourly, and tipping is a gratuity/bonus that is given for exceptional service/experience and should never be expected. Regardless of how she felt, telling us not to come back is extremely rude, and reflects poorly, not only her character but also on your establishment. When guests have an unsatisfactory experience, your staff should be inviting them back to create a better experience for the next time, not telling them...
Read moreNever had such a disgusting experience in my life. We were given a seat. We waited, and waited for someone to come by and grab our orders. Must have been over 30 minutes we sat there. The blonde waitress serving us must have had no brain, one of us asked to sub some meat for a different meat and she asked if they were vegetarian (?????). After close to an hour, the food came out and was so spicy no one could eat. The manager did not know how to manage a business clearly as we had waited over 45 minutes for her to come over to us so we could tell her that the kitchen staff had made the food extra hot when no one had asked for that. It was unbelievably spicy to the point where our mouths were numb and had to ask for milk. The cup of milk sat on the counter while I watched every waitress walk past it over and over again. At this point, we had seen bimbo serve the same table four times while we watched her laugh and talk to the other diners. I walked up to her myself and said "I don't want the milk anymore, we want to leave, please bring our bills" she argued that the milk was ready, where I then said "I know, I no longer want the warm milk, just the bills". The manager - thinking we wanted a refund (which we did not care about in any way shape or form) - sarcastically and smugly said "I'll give you 15% off" and at that point we had had enough. All we wanted was a good dinner. The manager, wish I grabbed her name, really had the worst attitude I've ever seen. The second she walked up she did not care for what anyone had to say, looking like "here we go again". We were forced to wait another 30 minutes for the bimbo waitress to come around and give us the receipts. I walked up to her twice and said please give us the receipts we want to leave. However, the manager had been holding them so we would have to wait longer. The manager clearly did not know how to manage and the way she acted was absolutely appalling. Nobody should have to be treated that way. Then the bimbo had the audacity to tell us that the waitresses personally lose money from their pockets when we don't tip, and that if we can't tip we shouldn't come out? Are you kidding me? In my entire life this was the only restaurant I hadn't tipped at and for a VERY clear reason. I could have given her a $50 tip if I really loved the service but unfortunately the way we were served was absolutely disgusting and I've never been served that way in my life - I've never even received that kind of service at McDonald's. The entire experience was so abhorrent that this place will forever be that restaurant horror story that I tell everyone about. Great way to make an impression right?
Also, food was pretty bad. I mean we couldn't really taste it due to the spice (and some of us are very accustomed to spice). Some food came out cold. Most plates had been picked at, at the end of our stay it looked like out food had just been placed down. Save yourself a couple bucks and a headache, go...
Read moreWent here about a month ago with three of my friends, my grandmother had passed away the night before and they took me out to try to take my mind off it. We sat ourselves, and waited over 5 minutes for a server to come to us. It was a Saturday night (surprisingly we were the only ones in the restaurant at 10PM) so I asked for the margarita special, except instead of a lime margarita could I have strawberry because I’m allergic to lime, she told me no, we only have lime, there’s no such thing as a strawberry margarita. I am a server myself, I have been for a few years now, and I’ve never heard of a restaurant not being able to make a strawberry margarita. I decided on the daiquiri instead.
She brought my three friends drinks first, and then left, which I assumed to get mine. She stood at the POS and talked to the manager, when she came to get our order (almost 10 minutes later), I told her I was missing my drink, she told me it’s because the bartender hadn’t made it yet. I had seen her make my friends drinks herself, she was the only server on, and there was no bartender. We ordered our food, I got the cauliflower bites and the garlic sticks as an appetizer for a friend and I to share. I then ordered the Chicken tostada salad. My friends had also ordered their second round of drinks. My apps came out with my salad and every else’s food, the garlic sticks were cold and hard, and the cauliflower bites were cold and not the right flavour. Not to mention, I still hadn’t gotten my drink.
After she put everything down, she immediately left, and went back to the POS and started talking to the manager again. I left my table and brought my cauliflower bites with me, and told her they were the wrong kind. She rolled her eyes and went to the back with the manager. I waited out there until she came back from the kitchen, and I told her I still hadn’t gotten my drink. The only reason I got my drink was because I waited at the bar until she made it for me, but she put a lime on the rim, so she had to remake it because I’m allergic to lime, and had told her that multiple times. The cauliflower bites came out to my table, and they were wrong again. I didn’t bother correcting them, and just ate it because I was sick of waiting and don’t want to have to ask for it for the 3rd time.
This location is horrible, my friend and I both used to work at a St. Louis and this type of service would never be acceptable at that location. The entire time I was there, the blonde manager was glaring at me. I didn’t speak to the manager because she looked rude and cold, and my grandmother had just passed and I knew that if I tried to explain what was wrong with our meal, I would break down. I will never visit this location again and I suggest no one...
