I rarely post reviews. And can’t recall the last town I posted a negative review, but this needs to be stayed.
I brought my 89 year old mother here for breakfast on Wednesday morning. It was her 89th birthday, I had driven up from Port Credit.
I had also found that her hot water heater in the crawl space of her. House had burst a leak and had been leaking into her basement for several days. We had a terrible morning.
When we got to the restaurant, where we have gone many times before, the waitress tried to drag us at a table near the front door. My mother asked for booth. The waitress became upset, why I don’t know - perhaps she too had a bad day. She very rudely told my mother that they were closing soon and snapped at her while taking us to an empty booth next to the table. She slapped the menu and walked away.
Mom was just cold and wanted to be away from the front door.
My mother was visibly shake.
I walked to the back and waited for the waitress to exit the kitchen. I then told her that it was my mother’s 89th birthday and she was shaken by her rudeness. And that I wanted her to know that; she was then started to tell the other waitress about the incident.
The waitress became quite upset and in a very loud voice shouted that she had not been rude and she’s”had enough in this stuff”. I told her that I hi in on everyone else in the restaurant notices. When she told me that she had enough of people like me and that we could just leave.
When I asked if I could see the manager she again waved me off and said -“enough”.
Embarrassed and mistreated I walked my mother outbid the restaurant. Both shaken, embarrassed and quite frankly hurt deeply to me made that we didn’t belong.
I could see that others had noticed this entire embarrassing incident.
This should just not happen over an elderly client...
Read moreI've been staying in a motel in the beach since having renovations done so naturally I have been going to restaurants for most meals. The first time I went a couple weeks ago I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was excellent, as was the service, so making a second visit was an easy choice. On my second visit I ordered bacon and eggs over medium, and the eggs were pure goo so I asked that new ones be made. 20 minutes later the new eggs came, and while I understand the place was busy, its over medium eggs you can literally grab any outgoing order and have them out in a minute or less. Regardless I came back again and attempted the eggs Benedict once again. It was a total mess. Two soft broken eggs on mushy soggy English muffins with a ridiculous amount of hollandaise that seems thrown on the plate. I wish I took a picture to compare the two you would never guess it came from the same restaurant. I came back to give it one more shot this morning and once again several things were not cooked right for me and my spouse. What it boils down to is inconsistency and lack of quality control in the kitchen. 4 times in a row eggs are wrong and plates look completely different, you know knives arnt sanitized as the fruit bowl tasted like it was filled with onions, consistency of French toast, hollandaise and other things that should be just that in a franchised restaurant, were quite the opposite. I wont be returning which is unfortunate because the first time was so great, but if you are an owner who values customer satisfaction and consistent, quality meals, then I encourage that the kitchen staff quality and/or management is given some TLC. 3* for good service and the...
Read moreEating at Stacked was not a great experience for my family and I. When we arrived, we waited a while to be seated. The hostess did not seem to make an effort to accommodate us (we were told they did not have seating for four adults and three children). There was visible seating in the corner, and I repeatedly told the waitress we could sit there and she told us no before eventually cleaning the space and giving us the table. After being seated, no server came to greet us, serve water, take drink orders, or apologize for the delay. When we were able to put in our order, they waited twenty minutes before returning and saying they did not have oat milk to complete the drink order. After drinks were served, they returned again to tell us that one of the menu items we ordered was not available. No one returned to check on us again after that. If the restaurant were busier it would feel understandable, but we watched as people who came in after us received their food and drinks, pay, and leave before we were served. The unfortunate reality is that the lack of attention and accommodation felt racially motivated, with servers even rolling their eyes as we waited for our table. I would not recommend going to this Stacked as a...
