Daily Grill Restaurant — Restaurant in Waterloo

In my opinion, doesn’t deserve the full 3 stars. Should be more like a 2.5.

Overall experience was fine, stopped in here on my way through town. Place was not busy at the time I came as seen in the empty seats photo, yet the two servers were running around like other people had called in sick and it was the busiest day of the week. Flying through the place for no reason, getting a whole lot of nothing really done.

Service was quick once at my table, I ordered immediately asking for the most popular breakfast plate and was given what was shown in the photos. Toast is toast, sausages were decent, eggs overdone and bland, potato hashbrowns were flavourless without salt and pepper.

After receiving my meal, I was not asked once if everything was okay (it wasn’t), or if I needed anything more (I did) until I got to the end and my plate was clear. It then also took an extended period of time for my server to come back and inquire about the bill, again… the place had maybe 3-4 other active tables inside while I was there between two servers and what appeared to be an owner or manager.

The open side of the restaurant kitchen/server area by the chalk board menus could be cleaned up/organized more so it’s less of an eye sore to customers that happen to be in eye view of it.

Overall, it was convenient to stop here while I was in the area, the food filled my belly for the morning, servers could use some better training.

Would probably not return here myself unless it was a last resort type of thing, you’d be better off driving the few mins down the road to get better menu items or variety...

We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and have always enjoyed their delicious food and service. A busy place at times, with a short wait but overall excellent service. However, this past Saturday we went for dinner and were seated immediately. Only about 6 people in the restaurant at the time. We ordered and waited almost 20 minutes for a salad and soup. Soup was hot and delicious. Salad was salad. However, this is where the problem arose. We waited and waited for our dinner? Weird as it was not busy. When we received out plates, mine as well as my friend's was cold. We had ordered the same thing. We asked for it to be warmed up and when we got it back, mine was still not hot. We ate it anyhow, but I was very disappointed, to the point where good prices have gone up dramatically and it was not worth the money. Our server was very apologetic and we made sure that she realized it was not her fault. The owner, actually brought my plate to me, but no real apologies were made for the temperature of my food. I don't think I will be back for a very long time. There are plenty of restaurants to choice from and this one doesn't make my grade. I have tried all the diners in KW and this one has become my #1 💯❤️❤️❤️ The gentleman that greeted me today with such a warm welcome and enthusiasm I so appreciated. It feels so good to be treated well and valued as a customer. He even offered to bring out my order to my car. True gentleman and that’s the best service ever!!! I even got coffee on the house, Thank you so much 🙏🫶🥰you’re so kind. I ordered the Greek Omelette and it was so delicious and fresh, the home fries were so perfectly done too, it reminded me of how my mom used to make them with Schnitzel and then as she was making them I would walk by and snatch a few, 😂 I love how it brought me that sweet memory.
