Hey Chefz (嘿-鐵板堂) — Restaurant in Waterloo

PLEASE READ!! Never go to this place. My friend and I both. got noodles with brisket. Food tasted fine until 5 minutes into it. All of a sudden we both started to feeling a weird tingling feeling that was also making our mouth and lips numb. It made us lose our tastebuds. At this point we were a few bites into it and we immediately stoped after we realized that this was extremely weird since no type of spice should feel like a lip pluming cream is in your mouth. We thought the whole situation was odd so we left out portions and we were super confused as we have never had food make us feel this particular sensation. We were disappointed in the food but we didn’t care that much since each portion was just $16 so we just decided we wouldn’t return. We also called the store and asked why it made our whole mouth numb and she said it was some pepper in it. However that’s is not our main concern. The same evening my friend and I both started experiencing a very bad sore throat. The following morning we both started to feel fatigue, chest pains, and extreme discomfort and even coughing up blood. The reason im sure that it is from this food is because 1)we both felt the exact same symptoms and 2) we started to feel progressively worse symptoms shortly after eating the food. We had just eaten but decided to try the sliced beef teppan pepper rice. I can't speak about the other food but the price of this dish does not match the portion. Other places in the building were pretty busy and this place just had us so I wondered if the prices here are higher. The dish was nice and flavourful but I think the entire flavour comes from the sauce which is poured on the meat and rice while it cooks.

Something I noticed and not only stading here to order but later while sitting, a strong, very strong smell of a cleaning product. The smell is every where and I believed the entire place (all the building, main floor that has all the little restaurants) was cleaned with such product. This could be a real hazard and specially to those who work there and are exposed to that...

The food here slaps everytime, if I had to count how many times I came here it would be too many to remember. I tried their beef, pork and chicken omurice. Meat is delicious and well cooked everytime but pork is my favourite. The rice to sauce to meat ratio is wonderful!

Also love the soup noodles here so much, especially the brisket and tomato one. I get this everytime whenever I want a good solid soup noodle dish. The broth is so flavourful and authentic.

I’ve also tried their tomato and egg, but that was mid. I wouldn’t get it again myself. Haven’t tried everything on their menu but this place is pretty awesome. It’s like a little gem that’s very affordable. Take out portions are just as...
