If my birthday isn't an excuse to indulge in crêpes, then what's the point of becoming a year older? This year, I celebrated my birthday at La Plouc Crêpes et Café (318 Spruce St #103, Waterloo, ON N2L 3M7, Canada). A charming European style café that brings the taste of France to a tiny corner of Waterloo, La Plouc is one of the several eateries that help me feel closer to home. This time around, I ordered a classic sweet combo - the Fraise Chantilly Crêpe (transl. crêpes topped with strawberry and whipped cream) and the Chocolat Chaud (transl. hot chocolate). The skilled crêpe artisan expertly poured a thin batter onto the hot griddle, swirling it into a perfect circle. As the crepe cooked to golden perfection, they generously filled it with a velvety whipped cream, while the sweet aroma of strawberries blended with the light, delicate texture of the freshly made crepe. The rich, indulgent Chocolate Chaud arrived in a steaming mug, an indulgent blend of dark cocoa and warm milk creating a heavenly complement to the delicate fraise chantilly crepe. However, the highlight of the meal was the wonderful server who served a complimentary Café Glacé as my birthday present. An utter work of art, the robust coffee flavour danced with the smoothy icy flavour, creating a frosty masterpiece! C'est exquis! Merci beaucoup, La Plouc, for turning another year older into a celebration of exquisite flavors and warm hospitality! Highly recommended! I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming place, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The Cafe Glace au Caramel drink was a revelation. The rich caramel flavor combined with the smooth, velvety coffee was a true treat for my taste buds. It was the perfect pick-me-up for a brisk autumn day, and I can't recommend it enough. As for the crepe, I opted for the autumn flavored sweet crepe, and it was nothing short of heavenly. The warm, comforting spices and seasonal ingredients made it a perfect choice for this time of year. It was like a slice of autumn on a plate. The atmosphere in the cafe was cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot to relax and savor these culinary delights. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. I'm looking forward to my next visit and trying more of their menu items. If you're in the area and looking for a wonderful coffee and crepe experience, this place is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!

I really wanted to like this place, and saw the great reviews (4.9 star rating). This was not it. The crepe has no flavour, and was very doughie. Strawberries were sour and the whip cream was served already melting. The crepe needed to have some kind of sweetener or vanilla flavour or lemon zest, literally anything. There was no taste. Would not suggest ordering this. This crepe took over 30 minutes to make and was served on a paper plate. Really disappointing. You can see from my picture, this looks like something from a food truck at a carnival not a $15 crepe from a French restaurant. I also noticed they served their espresso from a Brevile espresso machine, so that should tell you a lot as well. Overall, I would not recommend ordering the strawberry and cream crepe. Maybe their savory crepes are much better?

Probably the worst bubble that I’ve ever ordered. I saw the sign outside saying there was buy 1 get 1 free on bubble tea and saw that the place looked cute on the inside so I thought I would give them a try. The guy taking my order accidentally put it in wrong but he seemed new so I don’t fault him for it. The actual bubble tea was horrendous. I received 1 large strawberry bubble tea and 1 regular classic milk tea (even though I ordered both to be regular size). The regular classic milk tea had no sugar in it and the larger strawberry was almost too sweet to even drink (even thought I ordered regular sugar for both). I also ordered less ice for both drinks yet almost the entire drink was just ice. The tapioca pearls were also mushy and gross. Ended up just throwing both drinks away. Overall would not recommend for...
