Sam's Grill Waterloo — Restaurant in Waterloo

Like many others... I would love to give the place 5 stars. The food is amazing and the burgers are insanely good. But sadly today's order fell short. I ordered a bacom cheese burger and a bacon cheese hotdog through skip the dishes. Whoever made the order only put bacon on the hamburger and didn't put bacon or cheese on the hotdog. You guys are filling one order at a time. As a customer service person, pay attention, read what's infront of you. Fill the order. I'm super sad to place those review as I do very much enjoy the food and since this resturant has opened in my area I have been a very frequent customer.. Just a little more focus from the prep staff and this would have easily been 5 stars with the wish to apply more stars. Sad but true.

I'm going to edit this after Sam's reached out to me. Their response was fast to this review, sadly when I emailed them to " make it right" I never heard another word from them. I'm writing this on Nov 7th, now, check the date of my review. New location, new neighbourhood, and this is how they go about it... Like I said before, super sad as I would love to give them a 5 star, but they contuone to trip over their own feet. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but unfortunately, my experience here really missed the mark. I ordered a smoked meat sandwich for about $16. When I handed the woman behind the counter cash, she didn’t remove or change her gloves before or after handling the money, then went straight back into the kitchen. I watched as she continued preparing another customer’s food. I politely asked if she could please change her gloves, since she was switching between handling money and food. She said “no problem,” but didn’t actually do it right away—she finished the previous order before finally changing gloves to make mine.

As for the food, the sandwich itself was disappointing. The meat tasted like it had been microwaved, it was overly salty, and the rye bread was soggy. It didn’t feel fresh or properly made.

I hope the team here takes food safety more seriously moving forward, because this kind of cross-contamination can lead to people...
