If you truly can't buy happiness, then I firmly believe that shawarma is the best substitute! On a hunt for this delicious substitute, I visited Chef Signature (255 King St N, Unit 10, Waterloo, ON N2J 4V2). A Middle Eastern fast food eatery in the University Commons right opposite the Wilfrid Laurier campus, Chef Signature specializes in delicious shawarma fusion dishes that bring the best ingredients from all over the world. Hoping to try a variety of chicken and shawarma-based dishes, I started my meal with a chicken over rice. Simplicity was key in this dish - warm, comforting, and fulfilling, it was the perfect dish to remind me of home. The classic beef cheese burger made the meal even better - featuring a juicy, perfectly seasoned beef patty, grilled to perfection and topped with a melty slice of American cheese, the burger created a timeless combination of flavors and textures that was simply irresistible. However, the true highlights were the shawarma based dishes! Tender, marinated chicken slices grilled to a flavorful char, served on warm saj bread and a medley of fresh vegetables, the chicken shawarma saj was only made better with a side of creamy shawarma pasta alfredo. The Shawarma Platter Chef's Signature boasted a delectable array of thinly-sliced, perfectly seasoned meat, bringing a majestic end to a delicious feast! Should you find yourself in the Waterloo Region craving a Middle Eastern feast worthy of royalty, Chef's Signature is the place to be. A wide collection of falafel and shawarma dishes is sure to be an unforgettable meal with sizable portions!
