The Market at CMH — Restaurant in Waterloo

Once I forgot my WatCard and got a temporary replacement from the CMH front desk. The receptionist explained that the food market cashier should charge my student number instead, while I don't have my own card. He even mentioned if they had a dispute then just come talk to the front desk. It was fine for four meals I had purchased on different occasions, all cashiers happily charged my account from my number. This older white lady showed up one day, one of the the "higher-up" workers with the Maroon t-shirts, who I think are the supervisors or managers... "We can't charge you without your student card, otherwise we don't know it's actually you paying for it." 1) My PHOTO shows up when they input my student number 2) I spoke with the receptionist again that day and they said you could charge me through my student number, and I had sufficient balance too... 3) They (that one "higher up" worker) would rather throw out a perfectly good meal then let me pay for it using my PERFECTLY VALID MEAL PLAN I PAID FOR.

Another day this older Indian lady wouldn't let me return two of their green reusable containers at once. Started interrogating me where I got two from and accusing me of stealing the "trade-in" clips they give when you return the containers. She checked my WatCard and saw I purchased them, but still would only give me one clip. I had to return a few hours later when someone else was working with only one container. That woman even argued letting me pick up and retrieve my own container that I brought once I put it down.

Apart from these two crazy women, CMH is a good place to get food and eat. These two occasions are extremely upsetting though. The younger workers are much kinder...

Paid 67$ for a lunch meal and a salad plate. It doesnt make any sense to over charge students. They are absolute scammers.

The food options are diverse though and the food was good but definetly not...

The Market, serving students of University of Waterloo in Claudette Millar Hall, the CMH, with very friendly staff offering variety of foods and drinks to all tastes at reasonable prices....
