I recently visited bar olo in West Vancouver and had the pleasure of trying their Beef Carpaccio and Burrito Salad. The Beef Carpaccio was a standout dish delicately sliced beef drizzled with olive oil and accented with capers and a hint of citrus, creating a beautifully balanced flavor profile. Each bite was tender and fresh, showcasing the chef’s attention to quality and detail. The Burrito Salad provided a refreshing contrast, with a generous mix of crisp greens, hearty beans, and perfectly seasoned rice. Topped with succulent grilled protein and a zesty dressing, it was both satisfying and light an ideal complement to the rich Carpaccio. Beyond the food, the restaurant’s warm ambiance and attentive service made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend Bar olo to anyone in West Vancouver looking for inventive dishes served in a welcoming atmosphere.

My husband and came across Bar Olo quite by chance last night when we were looking for an open restaurant on our way back from Wycliffe Park. And what a lovely find it was. The waiters were genuinely attentive and immediately got us a table for 4 on the patio. The crisp white napery and single flower on the table are a rare luxury and added an elegance which we very much appreciated. I am strictly vegan for medical reasons with the added complication of not using any oils. The manager came out specially to discuss my dietary needs and between himself and the chef they put together a delicious pasta for me. We enjoyed two bottles of Italian red when my daughter and her boyfriend joined us and each one of our meals was superb. The atmosphere was upbeat and the restaurant was busy until at least 11pm when we took our leave. I would highly recommend Bar Olo for a night out.

Best Italian food ever!! I travelled from Richmond to check this place out and it’s well worth the trip! We had the clams and carpaccio for starters and they were unreal. We already started digging in when I realized I hadn’t taken a picture. It was so delicious the flavours of both were amazing. I had the Fennel sausage pasta and it was absolutely delicious. So rich and creamy I think this might be the best pasta I’ve ever had in my life. The chef truly outdone himself. The drinks were so good too!! I don’t usually stray from my classic ceaser, but I tried a sip of the negroni and it was amazing. Our server was so friendly and so well attentive too! Will definitely be back to try out more items. Overall the food was outstanding, service amazing and the vibe was perfect!

Edit: One year later and happy to say the food is much improved. I really enjoyed the branzino, striploin, and fennel sausage strozzapreti. Nice happy hour selection too. Well done! Really wanted to like Bar Olo. Went for dinner on the Sunday of their opening week -- I hope things have gotten better (food-wise) since. Kudos for a beautifully renovated interior and delicious cocktails. The food, however, was simply not good. One of the mains that I believe should not have left the kitchen that evening was the fish -- we ordered two because they had run out of many of the other options. The portion was tiny, as if the fish had been cut in half (and haphazardly at that) and the taste was simply not there. The dining room seemed fairly quiet, yet the food (and drinks) took a long time to arrive. Our server explained that it had been an extremely busy week and many of the staff had taken the rest of the day off. We were comped coffees and a slice of olive oil cake for the delays, but I was honestly embarrassed to have brought guests out to dinner that night, as well as for our server. I would recommend Bar Olo for their cocktails and hope that the food offerings and speed of service...
