Dine in service great yesterday. Have mobility issues had 2 orders and an exchange. Nothing was a problem.Very busy then . Today ,I ordered and was told by the same server,they yelled at me to pick up the order,but we're too busy to bring it to my table. Spoke to the manager re this issue,he apologized but mentioned how they don't normally serve customers at a table. There were about 6 customers only today total,and double that yesterday. I am not pleased,and will not come here again if I am greeted wuth an inconsistent service attitude. By the Way, I have been in client services for 35 plus years, and nothing is as important as a satisfied client. Do not think that these things are unimportant,we all have to feel important. There are many reasons to stop at The Modern Pantry: baked goods, unique breakfast buns, frozen and ready-to-bake pot pies and desserts, or just have a restful break in their outside patio. We needed to eat before getting on the ferry at Horseshoe Bay, so we stopped here and ordered a breakfast bun, grilled sandwich, two coffee drinks and a chocolate brownie. All the food we ordered were good. The breakfast bun was a savoury version of cinnamon bun with cheese and vegetables inside – very creative. Frozen ready-to-bake versions are even available. The frozen chicken pot pies looked really good, except I was told they would have garlic inside (aarg!). They make their own jams and pasta...

A friend recommended this place and we weren’t disappointed. We came here for lunch and ordered the roast beef sandwich and the quiche with a side kale salad.

I had them toast the sandwich. I was told the quiche would take 15 minutes to be ready. It would be nice to get all our food at the same time. Both lunch entrees were tasty and fresh. The kale salad had some sweet potatoes in it. It needed a bit more salad dressing.

There are some vegan options and they definitely had a good selection of treats to accompany tea or coffee.

The decor is simple inside but they also have an area out front for outdoor dining. There’s enough room for baby strollers and dogs. They’re open...
