If you're curious about real Cantonese cooking, skip the General Tso’s chicken and chow mein and try Loong’s. My mother-in-law is one of the best cooks I’ve ever known. Every Sunday, she would spend six to eight hours preparing a feast of our favorite Cantonese dishes—no recipes, just decades of experience and a deep love for feeding others. Loong’s is the closest I’ve ever come to that kind of cooking in a restaurant. The food is expertly prepared, deeply authentic, and absolutely delicious. Every dish was perfectly seasoned, spiced, and cooked with obvious skill. Don’t be intimidated by the menu. We had pork belly soup (best broth, chewy pork), beef brisket noodles, stir fried veggies, sweet and sour pork and milk custard for dessert (try it hot). All were wonderful! Don’t come here expecting trendy décor, cocktails, or flashy service. This is about the food—nothing more, nothing less. It’s a father-and-son team running the place, and while the service is simple and efficient, come for the food. Or you could try takeout. The restaurant itself might not wow you at first glance. But give it a chance, and you’ll feel like you are in a favourite neighbourhood spot in Guangdong—only it happens to be in...
Read moreVery Horrible service and experience!!!!!! Since I worked at the Dundarave area, I sometimes went to Dundarave Sushi for lunch. Today I went for lunch as usual, I ordered an beef don (Serving the rice with beef slice and egg), that was the only one beef don on the menu and I did eat that before. Then the chef served me another kind of beef don that I had never seen, I told the chef that he may give me a wrong one, could I change one? The chef was very rude and told me, there were 2 beef don, it was my fault because I did not ask him to add eggs. I was shocked and then I pointed out the menu and explained there was only one kind of beef don shown on the menu and it clearly stated slice beef with egg. How comes to another one? The chef insisted he was right, finally he was unwilling to change the correct one to me but the beef was cooked very salty and tasted badly and the chef said to me " you are not welcome anymore" . Yeah, this is the true story just...
Read moreThis is the worst sushi place I've ever been to. Dirty place (you can see it everywhere), rude service and TERRIBLE food. Ordered a Tuna Tataki and side salad for lunch.
The Albacore tuna was frozen in the middle which is a health hazard as they receive the fish frozen, sear it, then freeze it again - this goes against very basic food safety practices. The dressing flavor was horrible for both dishes.
They saw I left half of the dish on my plate (I only ate part of it because I was really hungry) and didn't say anything. I told them it is not correct to serve a dish frozen and chef lied saying "he made it that morning". I was very bitter to pay $20 for a small portion of frozen, low quality albacore and some lettuce with...
