My son and I custom ordered a cake to celebrate my wife’s birthday. For the past 3 years, we entrusted Temper’s talented team for many celebrations. They really make the best cakes and chocolate treats on the North Shore. This year we chose a large lemon tart for her as she likes the small ones. Needless to say we were shocked when we learned that they sold our custom order when we came by to collect it yesterday. My son and I spoke with their team. Their pasty chef and another male team member saw our cake with our plaque placed on it. It was disheartening for my son to hear that someone physically removed his mom’s birthday plaque off the cake we ordered and paid for and sold it to another customer. I wrote to their team and my son reached out to the owner on his social media - neither have replied. The reason why I gave them 2 stars was solely because of the lady who took our original commission was there and she immediately took responsibility and helped us seek the truth which is the very least that we deserved. She promptly asked their pasty chef to remake another tart for us a small one because they didn’t have the materials to make the one we ordered. It looked good but as it wasn’t given time to set properly so it wasn’t very good and was too small. We are grateful for her efforts but it is still a fail from their management and ownership. My advice to them is to look carefully at what happened and make an effort to insure that it doesn’t happen to another trusting customer. Pay less attention on being a public figure on social media for likes and pay some attention to people who support...

I always go to temper for a pastry and a coffee in the morning and most of the time there’s an Asian guy and an Asian girl who make pretty nice lattes. Today it’s another girl and she made a latte that’s looks like automatic machine made coffee. I asked her if she can change it to the normal regular mug instead of to go cup. She was very unwilling but then grab a mug in front of her and poured the latte from the paper cup into the mug. I told her I expected her to make a new latte for me. She then rolled her eyes up and said rudely “ it’s none of my business!” At this time the manager came out from the back and asked what had happened, this girl rolled up her eye again and told her I asked for a Latte in a mug but I ordered it to go! The manager without talking to her, told me she made this mistake as when she charged me early she punched it as “To go”. Then she asked me if she can give me something on the house, I said I don’t need that, I only want to address the problem with that girl’s attitude towards me. While that girl finally made another latte for me because the manager told her to, but the entire time she’s so rude and throw the new cup of latte in front of me, with her eyes rolled up again. At the moment I asked her “why do you showed me such an attitude? I just want a decent cup of latte that I have paid for!” Without saying anything she continued with this attitude and walked away, the manager didn’t care and allowed her staff to have such a unacceptable...

I’m writing to express my deep disappointment with the experience I had at your store this morning. I arrived at 7 AM and asked for a cake. One of the employees told me it would take 10 minutes, which I accepted without issue. I waited patiently for 45 minutes — during which time all the cakes were eventually brought out — yet no one bothered to update me, check in, or even acknowledge I was still waiting.

What made this worse was the behavior of the staff. The same employee who initially spoke to me completely ignored me afterward, choosing instead to chat on the phone and socialize with coworkers in another language — all while I was sitting there being dismissed and overlooked. When I finally approached another employee, I was told, “That’s all for now,” with no effort made to offer help or a solution. Eventually, she said she could maybe ask someone to prepare one later.

This kind of treatment is simply unacceptable. In the past, your team was polite, attentive, and genuinely cared about the customer experience. Sadly, that standard has clearly deteriorated. What I witnessed today was a complete lack of professionalism, courtesy, and basic customer service. I felt disrespected, unwelcome, and invisible.

As a loyal customer, I am genuinely disheartened. I hope you take this feedback seriously — because unless there is a real change in how customers are treated, I don’t see myself returning, nor recommending your...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Temper Chocolate & Pastry, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience. The first thing that caught my attention were the mouthwatering croissants and desserts they had to offer. From the moment I took my first bite, I was transported to pastry heaven. The croissants were perfectly flaky and buttery, and the desserts were a delightful combination of flavors and textures. What impressed me even more was the variety of food options available at Temper Chocolate & Pastry. Whether you're in the mood for a light snack or a satisfying meal, they have something for everyone. From freshly made sandwiches and salads to delectable quiches and pies, the menu caters to all tastes and preferences. One of the highlights of my visit was the outdoor patio. It provided a serene and cozy ambiance, perfect for enjoying my treats while soaking in the sunshine. The patio was beautifully decorated and offered a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Overall, I highly recommend Temper Chocolate & Pastry to anyone in search of great croissants, desserts, and a wide range of food options. The quality of their offerings is exceptional, and the outdoor patio adds an extra touch of charm to the experience. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

EDIT: I used to think this place had the best coffee in the city. Today, I came with friends after having boasted about previous experiences. We arrived during a slow period and ordered some sandwiches. Nearly everyone's order was wrong, and soup was cold. As a coffee lover, I used to frequent this spot for their flat white. After receiving a coffee with milk in it, I had a 5 minute argument over what a flat white is. By their definition, it's just espresso with milk, picture of my "flat white" attached. I won't be back until the baristas are properly trained. And customer service improves. OLD REVIEW: Best coffee I've ever had, but it's priced accordingly. An espresso coffee will cost you at least $3.50 but it's worth it. Furthermore, the pastries, chocolate, and bags of coffee are very expensive but they are high quality. Staff are friendly and polite even when it's busy. I only wish it opened earlier in the morning.

Whereas the store is really nice and super clean and the front of the counter people are nice and effective.. their food (not the chocolates as I haven’t purchased just yet) is expensive for what you get and, honestly, not of great quality. We order a sandwich croissant and the food was greasy (quite a bit) and falling apart right away. Not what you expect from a $12 sandwich! Then.. even though the counter staff is super nice.. the kindness disappears when you confront the barista.. not even eye contact. She looks and gives a vibe of being so unhappy.. when you tell her that you are waiting for your drink she just ignores you.. we waited 12 minutes for a hot chocolate.. and the store was empty! Not coming back soon, for sure.
