My experience went as following;
we were greeted once we entered and showed the South Asian women this coupon all suddenly was surprised and told us that this coupon was from Head Office, not their own, which seemed weird since this coupon came directly from this Nando's Park Royal South location Facebook page. So they can't punch it in the POS system. They said it might not work because it's a limited coupon and then told us to sit down and was going to speak with the manager.
We saw her go speak with a South Asian man who was doing the role of an expo. He seemed unprofessional, meaning not being welcoming to other guests and even giving the takeout orders to other patrons. He seemed ungroomed as well with his flashing white shoes.
After they've discussed, the women came back and told us it will this was an exception, to let us use the coupon, although they'll have to do it on paper so it will be all cash. So I followed her to the tills to punch in the order/coupon. As soon I showed the coupon again at the tills, the South East Asian ladies seemed uncomfortable and tried to not include themselves into the situation.
The "Manager" came beside her as soon as she was calculating the price and tried to bump up the price, by saying it's tax, so I had to rectify his reasoning and told him "No this is not how it works! If you don't wish to punch in the POS as an "Open Food" option it will be no tax because you can't issue me a receipt." He then backed off without saying anything, no excuses or such.
After payment, I sat back down at our table and was observing what was happening at the hot lamps transfer and the back of the house. They had many customers after us and they got their food served first. As soon as everybody got theirs, our party saw our meals laying under the lamp and we saw one of the cooks taking it back down. We were afraid they won't give it to us or they'll mess around with our meals because we didn't have a receipt.
As well, we didn't receive cutlery or plates, just our glasses of water - which tasted a bit off, almost chlorinated.
We just saw them placing the side dishes with the chicken luckily. We received our meals and was watched with a sort of smirk/disgust during our whole stay. As soon as they had no more orders everybody went into the back and it seemed that they were being given something. We imagined it was our payment being split by all of the staff since it could be not accounted for.
We use to be vivid consumers of Nando's but we have never experienced such bad service since then. I usually do not complain but this was the worse service I've had in any restaurant, and I've worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for 8 years. I do not recommend this location at all. I believe your administration staff knows what to improve now. If there's anything you can do for our party of 4 it would be great and train your...
Read moreIf I could leave no star I would. Today, we went to the Park Royal Nando's and ordered food to-go. After waiting for over 30 minutes, I got the food. I specifically asked for no salt or seasoning for the fries as the kids do not eat spicy fries. I also got a chicken salad and 2 wraps.
there was no cutleries given! when I called themthey said, we don't give out cutleries due to Covid! there are a lot of weird stuff happening after Covid but this tops it all! 'You have to ask for it!!' the attendant said! Who asks for cutleries when the order is to-go! Shouldn't they ask the customer?! the wraps and the chicken salad were so extremely salty that we could not eat them or we barely could finish the wraps (we were hungry) but we did not touch the salad or one of the fries. The saltiness just burned the throat the fries were also super salty and not edible.
I returned the food to them. Did not get my money back but told them how awful their food was and that we will never ever step inside Nando's and we will tell all our friends and family too.
By the way, their website (both the Park Royal franchise and the head office) have made it impossible for customers to send feedback. You are not able to fill out the form as it constantly gives an error. You would think a big franchise like this would want to hear from their customers!...
Read moreIts been 13 years since Nando’s birds eye chili infused peri-creations graced the crystal blue shores of West Vancouver. From humble beginnings on Park Royal’s akward and slightly spooky Northwest side, this under the radar but beloved location was the model of consistency and impeccable service with a smile. The Rotisseries were spinning seemingly 24/7 and their Chef had the type of handle on his marinade few culinary personnel could ever hope to achieve. Then came the relocation. To most pundits, the move to the South East end of the mall was a home run in the making. More foot traffic, and easier access for West Van Dads popping into Tommy Bahama to catch the latest breezy wailea approved styles. The grand reopening however was a harbinger of what would become a rocky few years for the spicy red rooster. Uneven saucing, stale breads, and an unreliable fountain pop dispenser. But in true thoroughbred fashion however, The last several months have proved to be a stunning return to form. Perhaps churning out the finest birds of his career, Chef has regained his impeccable burner awareness, and the addition of perinaise, fresh baby arugula on artisan ciabatta has added the gourmet flair we never knew we needed. This proverbial Stella, has most certainly got her groove back. Seriously...
