Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Whitby

Pizza or ketchup? Ketchup! This was my experience with Papa John’s. Yeah I love pizza (mostly veggie pizza or cheese pizza), and I love trying it any places , new places. Most places, pizza offers their own flavours, toppings, sauce , base but each of them are unique in taste in its own way. Papa john’s is unique too but in a weird way. I felt like if it’s a pizza sauce or tangy ketchup base? I was feeling was I even eating pizza? Because to me, pizza should be anything but tangy! I don’t generally like over tangy foods but I can still eat and still love eating it (where it is supposed to be tangy), well definitely not in pizza! This was mostly like all other flavours were subsided by its sauce. Even though it was cooked well and nice, cheese was nice but overall it was below average for me. I would not recommend if you do not like tangy flavour a lot , however if you are someone who loves tangy then it’s a must try, maybe you...

First time ordering from Papa John's, my wife wanted to try it. So we orrder Pizza for contactless delivery and schedule online for the order to go through for a specific time, the delivery arrived before the scheduled time and the driver would not leave our door for me to collect. He stood there until I opened the door for him to hand me the pizza. When I told him it's earlier than I scheduled, his response was "better early than later".

Asked from that the pizza was terrible, way too much cheese and the sauce they use. I'm sure many would like this pizza. But this is not how pizza should taste, it was immediately tossed in the garbage, I wouldn't even feed this to our dog.

I like Papa John's Pizza. I like how the pizza taste and how the toppings on the pizza is presented. I like how it comes with their signature jalapeno pepper on the side along with their buttery garlic dipping sauce. Mmmm delicious. Just be careful when ordering on the app. Make sure you to check the store location that you would like to order from. I accidentally order pizza that I previously purchased at another store location and it sent my order over there. Luckily I had relatives that live near that store location and they enjoy a free meal on me. Too bad the app can't notify me that my current location is not anywhere near the Papa John's Store closest to me or letting me know that my pickup location needs...
