Food was very bland for my husband and me. The tofu we ordered was served in watery sauce instead of gluey sauce, which is fine but the taste………………just………a bit salty.… watered down soysauce would taste better, it was not aromatic or flavorful at all.
Actual dish does not resemble the photo's in the menu. I ordered the hot and sour soup because the photo in menu looks amazing with lotz of thinly sliced tofu and other ingredients. In reality……we got less than 10 short slices of tofu in two take out bowls and the saddest amount of egg flower and veggies I've ever seen in a bowl of hot and sour soup, practically none existent! I've had terrible hot and sour soup from Vegas buffets, and the one I had here was worse! Not only were the ingredients extremely cheaped out,the soup tasted bad too. We only had a few spoonful of ingredients and dumped the whole thing.
The price is fair considering its prime location by the beach. The rent must be higher than other places in White Rock. But the food they serve is worse tasting than buffet or food court. However, I must admit, the bad (bland) taste may be healthier...
Terrible service. The lasting memory I have of my first (and last!) visit to this dump is the young, inexperienced, attitude-ridden waiter dropping-off our tea by holding onto the edges (lip) of the cups. And when I had shared my feedback with him (in a discreet and light-hearted way), he pulled a face, took our tea, stomped away and stomped back only to drop the same tea with a THUMP on the table. He did it with such force that the tea sloshed over the table. I am not making this up. We were in such a state of shock that all we could do at that moment was look at each other in utter dismay and disgust. Needless to say, our desire to spend money at this dump evaporated right then and there. We both got up and left. Luckily, we discovered KW Gardens at 2338 King George Hwy, Surrey, B.C. Not only was the service great, but the food was delicious. Don't waste your time and/or money at this dump. You...
Read moreWhat a gem of a find! This cozy restaurant not only delivers on flavor but also on heartwarming ambiance.
Dishes we loved: Sweet & Savory Glazed Shrimp – Juicy, perfectly cooked shrimp smothered in a rich, sticky sauce. The presentation on a bed of fresh greens made it as appealing to the eyes as it was to the taste buds. Braised Pork Hock – Fall-off-the-bone tender, rich in flavor, and beautifully garnished with fresh green onions. Comfort food at its finest.
The atmosphere: The interior has a unique charm with traditional red Chinese lanterns, cultural decor, and wooden accents that create a warm, inviting vibe. You can feel the pride in their culinary roots with framed photos of chefs and a glowing sign for “CCTV – China Canada Tsingtao Vancouver” adding a cultural touch.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy authentic flavors in a cozy and...
