Mings Palace Restaurant — Restaurant in Williams Lake

First time back to Ming’s since it reopended. I wanted to give 2.5 stars, but had to chose between 2 and 3, so here we are…. Food was the regular American-style Chinese food lacking authenticity and passion… Wonton Soup was in a plain broth with nothing else in it, barely luke-warm…. Spring-rolls were still frozen inside, Fried rice without egg and just blant…. The store-bought condiments brought some life to the food, but that’s about it! Clearly everything was frozen or pre-made, which however resulted in very fast service, which was good for our hungry work-crew! Service lady was very friendly, but clearly overwhelmed, not really knowing her way around in the new restaurant…overall she took good care of us! Overall the food was edible and the price rather cheap ($77.00 for a 5-person meal and more than enough food for 5 big-framed workers!) Only the fact to have to pay $4.50 for a tea-bag was not quite understandable! As for the atmosphere, very clean (well, it just opened and is brand new), but not cozy….decor is grey and grey, no personal or Chinese touches like you are used to from other...

I have never felt less valued as a customer.

We were cold and wet after driving through a nasty snowstorm. We called a half hour ahead was told it would be 20 minutes. Past experience told us that being 10 minutes late would be just about right. When we arrived, the front entrance was full of people waiting for their late orders. Slowly, they all got their orders. The woman at the front desk seemed unable to find my order, and was slammed with people ordering, picking up, and paying for their meals. I ended up waiting a full half hour in the dingy waiting area. We ended up getting our food a full 40 minutes after they said it would be ready. When I finally got my food, I asked for a discount. The woman asked the manager, but no luck. It wasn't her who took the order (or anyone else's who was waiting), but she was totally getting someone else's mistakes dumped on her.

Horrible. Pre ordered at 2 for 530. Paid for and everything. Food wasn't ready till 630. Heard from others food was very bland. Got my money back. Waitress was short when I voiced my complaints. Won't ever go back. If short staffed and not ready, shouldn't have reopened yet... Great response from the owner. You don't have to worry about me being on the black list, cause we wouldnt be back after last night. Instead of dealing with the issue you black list people.. This happened a week ago from the last review.. You guys messed up and that's your response. Great ownership bud. New update. Mings has now decided to block me on Facebook because I shared my experience there....
