Having enjoyed Schoolhouseâs beer at home and been to the brewery once before we decided to make the drive to go again. We brought our dog that we got back in the spring as we had seen from social media posts that the patio was dog friendly. With recent Covid restrictions we werenât sure if we had to wait to be seated so we hung out by the entrance. After waiting almost ten minutes we noticed a sign saying if you were sitting on the patio to grab an open table so we did so. We were then told very quickly and in a short tone that there were only two tables on the patio that were dog friendly that were both in use. While we were discussing whether to wait a group who was at one of the tables and did not have a dog with them graciously offered to move to another table so we could come in. Once we got seated we did see signs with the âdog section rulesâ but that was at the opposite end of the patio from the entrance so maybe clearer signage at the entrance is needed about dogs? The beer and snacks were delicious as usual. The only other hiccup came at the end when we were ready to leave and had to wait another 10+ minutes to pay. We will definitely come back again, itâs a great spot with delicious product, but a couple of helpful tips for first timers, especially if...
Read moreI am very surprised to say my experience here was not good. Iâd like to first offer some constructive feedback - can I suggest moving the patio rules to a more accessible spot at the front gate? I had no idea there were rules because they are at the far end of the patio, and the sign is very small. I was told rather sharply âno dogs on your lapâ; I apologized but felt so unwelcome and on edge that we decided to put them back in the car. It took 25 minutes to get our food which I thought was a bit long, considering it wasnât overly busy. I ordered the houseburger with brussel sprouts - sprouts were incredible, but burger was very small and dry. The bun was dense and stale. My partner got the burger special and fancy fries. We both got non-alcoholic drinks, but there were only 3 options and all expensive, the cheapest being $4.75. We were offered no water, and had incomplete utensil sets without knives to scoop up all the little bits and had to use our fingers. All together, we spent over $60 and left hungry and disappointed. I would never recommend this to anyone, it was expensive, the portions were small, the food was mediocre, and the service was...
Read moreSuch a weird experience here. Myself and a group of friends stopped in to town to enjoy some lunch and antiques. We parked in the lot of this building which also houses the antique and coffee shop. As we were leaving a staff member of this establishment came running after us. I initially thought maybe we dropped something as she was approaching us with such urgency. She in fact very rudely told us that we weren't parked in a proper space. That's fair but we thought we saw a faint line so it was an honest mistake. We apologized and she then told us that the lot was only for patrons of the building. Her whole approach was aggressive. There are ways to pass on this information. If there was a sign, we didn't see it but what a turn off to have a staff member yell at us. Not exactly the invite to enjoy a drink or two at your place. As we were leaving our friends had just parked as well so we stopped to tell them to not park here and she came out and started yelling at them about getting towed! Is that the representation you would like for your business? I will say we had a fabulous lunch at The...
