I am, or rather was, a regular drive through customer for breakfast at this location (Inkster & Main in Winnipeg) for over a year. I always get the same thing, occasionally the coffee (I get 2 cream) had sugar in it or I get the wrong breakfast meat but I never called to complain to get a replacement because I know it happens when it's busy and I just ate it and moved on with my day. But on Wednesday there was green mold spots on the English muffin. I called as soon as I got to work, gave them my name/phone number and I said please check the english muffins because I wouldn't want anyone to eat mold. I said I will stop by in a couple days to get my regular meal replaced. Today, Saturday, was that day. I walked inside because I thought I would have to sign something that they replaced a meal. The manager said they checked the breads(I ordered an English muffins so maybe they checked the wrong thing?) and she said that's why they didn't call me back. They didn't say sorry, they made me feel like I was lying in front of all the customers sitting at tables.
I WILL NEVER spend a dollar at this location again. Between my kids, husband and myself we could spend $30/week and they just lost very good customers. I never write negative reviews but their customer service over replacing a moldy breakfast sandwich saddens me and I'm sure I'm not the only one management has made feel like I did today. Read moreHonestly, I have continued to try and be supportive of A&W because of their “healthier” marketing approach to fast food along with being the first fast food restaurant chain to offer a good vegetarian option and stick to it, BUT I can’t anymore. The change in owner operators in the last 5 years has brought the name down in the mud. Service is always horrible. You have to repeat your order a minimum of 4 times, the drive thru cashier cuts you off when you speak, never listens to the order first having you to repeat everything. They are unable to take a payment and order at relatively the same time. Regardless of the order or time of day, you are ALWAYS parked. No one in front of me or behind me the entire time I’m waiting for my order but somehow parking me to wait for an egg n cheese sandwich at 7:30 am (waiting for egg apparently) even though the hashbrowns are ready, helps trick their service times. Read morePlease please stop deep frying your breakfast hashbrowns! Second time I've got breakfast from the Main Street location and again, worst hashbrown I've ever had. (Second time wasnt by choice, someone purchased for me). Don't get me wrong, a bit of grease is good! But this was like a sponge soaked in grease that had just picked up all the gross stuff from the deep fryer.. I usually don't review places but I felt it was necessary. Even the breakfast sandwich was on the greasy side for a typical breakfast sandwich. My dad thought it was fine so he ate the rest of the hashbrown but later told me it left a gross taste in his mouth.. It was dark brown and pure grease.
