I went to Wheelies last weekend with my daughter, my sister and her two kids. There was one staff member who was micromanaging us the entire time we were there. She was constantly telling us to stop doing whatever it was we were doing.
I understand that there are rules in place for a reason, but it just seemed like she was picking on us specifically. My youngest niece is 6 years old, and is new to skating. We were coming off the skating floor, and used the half wall to walk around to the sitting area, and we were told we aren't allowed to to do that and that it's against the law. We weren't loitering there, but simply using it to help the little ones get off the skating area. We were there for less than a minute before she came over to chastise us.
Another time we were leaving the floor because a game was starting, again we were reprimanded and told to leave the floor, we were already on our way off the floor! It can take an extra minute or two for young kids to move around when they are new at skating. We weren't blocking anyone, or causing problems, and we were far along the edge near the back wall trying to get off the rink.
While we were sitting, we saw many people standing at the wall that was supposedly forbidden, and nobody harassed them or told them to move. We also saw a child on the rink eating a popcycle while they were skating, and nobody said anything to him.
After being there only an hour, we decided to leave because of how they were treating us. It wasn't fun anymore because we felt targeted by this one staff member, who didn't seem to mind all kinds of behaviour from the other patrons. It was embarrassing to continuously be chastised like we were children. My sister and I are full grown adults, who respect rules and regulations, but this one staff member made the experience horrible for us and we wont...
Read moreTook our kids this afternoon. Went to buy drinks and snacks only to be told we couldn't buy popcorn... I guess the owner didn't want to make anymore. Contemplated a pizza but a $3 great value frozen pizza (I could see the boxes as the staff cooked them) cooked in a toaster oven for $12.00 seemed like the most ridiculous price. While one staff was serving us the owner took over the till and the poor girl had to start all over again. Next was a trip into the most disgusting bathroom I've ever seen. A port-a-potty would have been more pleasant. There was feces on several stall walls!!! All the rolls of toilet paper were laying in the floor, because apparently installing a holder would be too much I guess. I felt like I needed a shower by the time I got out of the women's.I'd hate to see the state if the men's facilities. I went and spoke with the owner, how was harsh and rude, claiming the bathrooms had. Just. Been cleaned prior to opening and that some kid must have done it. Impossible, feces was DRIED ON and crusty and disgusting. He said he's try and send one if the girls in to clean it soon. So I waited... The girl came alone with Windex and paper towels, no gloves. There was still feces on the wall when she was done. Not once did I see anyone behind their counter handling food and money wash their hands. All the kids wanted to play a game before we left, if only they weren't just there to take money from people. Half of them just took the money and a bunch didn't have working buttons. By the time we left we'd spent $80!!!! We absolutely will not be...
Read moreHad my daughter’s birthday party there yesterday. Got there five minutes before it opened. The grouchy man that works there embarrassed me in front of the other parents. He asked how many kids were coming (which I already told him over the phone) I said 11 kids. He yelled at me ‘How many kids are here RIGHT NOW’ like I was an idiot. At that point it was just my daughter and her friend so I said 2, which he could clearly see. Then he barked’ how many parents are staying and I basically had to ask every parent to raise their hands like we were in kindergarten. He should NOT be doing customer service. When I asked if I should stay at the front to tell him who else was with the party he barked ‘IVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR 29 YEARS, I THINK I KNOW WHAT IM DOING!’ I was horrified at the treatment he gave me! The food SUCKED. the cheese pizza was some sort of pesto pizza that was bought at the store , popcorn didn’t taste like popcorn. Was very rude when I asked for paper plates, very stingy on those, but yet they are included in the package. What makes things confusing/worse is that when I went to pay, he asked me how many kids there were, but yet barked at me when I came in asking. He didn’t even know the price of his own pizza. He guessed 15.00 and I corrected him, stating it says 13.00 online. So basically all that yelling at me when he had to ask me everything again at the end of the party. He was sweet as pie when I handed over the money though! NEVER AGAIN. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! Save yourself a...
