This used to be my favourite AYCE sushi restaurant in the city. I've been coming here regularly for the past few years, but after our experience last night with an extremely rude server, we won’t be returning and I hope no other customers ever get treated the way we were treated last night. We arrived around 8:30 PM — an hour before their last call at 9:30 PM — and placed our order within five minutes of being seated. By 9 PM, we had received about half of what we ordered. When it was time for their last call, we wanted to add a few more items to what we were still waiting on. When the server came to collect our last call order sheet, we asked if the rest of our original order was still coming. She said she wasn’t sure, as it had been taken by another server, but she would check with the kitchen. She came back and told us the kitchen might have accidentally thrown away our original order sheet, and asked us to let her know what we were still missing. I started to name the items — spicy butterfish and spicy salmon — but she cut me off because she didn’t understand what I was referring to. She asked if I meant sashimi, and I clarified that I was referring to nigiri sushi. Still confused, she went back to the kitchen and returned with a new order sheet — but only gave us the top right section, which listed only sushi rolls (none of which we had ordered). I tried to explain that the items we were missing weren’t on that portion of the sheet, but she ignored us and told us to just label what we wanted. I had no choice but to write down the names of the missing items. When she noticed what I was doing, she told me to just mark it down — again, we explained that we hadn't ordered any rolls. She then snatched the sheet away, yelled “OH MY GOSHH,” and stormed back into the kitchen. Finally, she returned with the full order sheet. At that point, I felt genuinely embarrassed — it felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience. We’re not difficult customers; we simply just wanted the food we ordered. As a server myself, I’ve always been understanding of how busy this place can get, and we’ve dined here many many times before. But last night, the restaurant was actually less busy than usual — only two other tables in our section, and the rest of the restaurant was clearing out as last call approached so we couldn’t understand why we were met with such an attitude. All of the other servers we’ve encountered here have always been friendly and accommodating, no matter how hectic the night. The other server who took our payment was actually as equally surprised that we didn’t get most of what we ordered, she apologized and offered to ask the kitchen to make them for us for to-go but we didn’t want to wait any longer and they were also about to close (almost 10:30 at that point). It really was just that particular server that was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. We’ve never had an experience like that before — and sadly, we won’t be...
Read moreI did never give a low review like this, but I think is important know why before judge me. I have long experience in All You Can Eat restaurants in Canada, and I need to say that A+ Sushi, doesn't meet the criteria to call theirself All You Can Eat restaurant. I went there today, after the lunch schedule (26 CAD by person) and I saw many unfair things important to notice. Even when the servers in the local are very nice and helpfull, they seems to pay attention to serve as fast as they can to the regular Menu and the delivery (Skip the dishes) customers, instead tp serve the All you can eat ones. I know they want to increase the revenue focusing their busines in customers that pay more for their service, but the differences of dishes between the menu and All You Can Eat are ridiculous. In my visit of today, I could see that the menu's dishes were georgious and magnificents in constrast with the All you can eat ones. While in the first cases the ingrents in their rolls like salmon and avocado were perfect and contundent, in the all you can eat cases were just rice, more rice and tiny pieces of vegetable. I was there almost 1 hour, with an average time of service of 10 min for each all you can eat dish. During the same period of time, 4 different Skip the dishes delivery guys showed up to take their georgeos orders in I think no more than 3 or 4 min. In addition with all the story above, somebody forgot to prepare one of my orders so, after 15 min late and tired to waiting, I left the restaurant without even taste the deserts. In summary, I think A+ Sushi it is not prepared to work like an All you can eat restaurant due to all the differences between the regular menu and the all you can eat one. I think, they should continue perfectly working like a regular sushi restaurant, instead to add the all you can...
Read moreAs I was about to pay, I was told that the requirement was to give 10 or 15 percent tips. I don't mind giving tips to people who deserve tips, but when you lie to me about what is required and then quickly change your mind because you know it's not true. I do not like giving tips. When waiting 30 min for your food, I do not see it right to give tips. Tips are bonus money that customers should want to give due to going beyond what you usually do. Restaurants should not be forcing tips out. Instead, they should pay their staff the amount that is due to them. If there is a tip, then that person should be recognized in what he or she has done to deserve the tip. We already are paying more than what the meal is worth, and some people can't give tips due to their financial state. Yet we do our best to try and have fun with friends. If you want a tip, make sure you go beyond the call of duty where people would say wow they deserve a type. Also, do not lie about what t Amount of type you should be getting. I and a friend went back here because the other place we wanted to go wasn't eat all you wanted. For the first time being here, I was pushed to give a type that I did not and force to pay 10 dollars for a small portion of leftover that we paid to take home. I think that is crazy... 2 dollars, maybe, but ten? I wouldn't recommend this place, at the same time the sushi does taste great when you...
