Mixed experience. Food was great and the chef was delightful. However, the wine list just says "white wine" at $28 -- when brought to our table, it turned out to be Barefoot Pinio Grigio. This is a $10 bottle of wine. If you are serving good food, don't serve bad wine and charge 3x the price! Also, although I had paid for the "supreme" meal that includes dessert and tea/coffee, and I told the server when I placed the order that I had an allergy to an ingredient in the baklava, it was only when she served the dessert to the rest of the table that she told me that there was nothing for me. Couldn't the chef have something else on hand? And why not tell me when I ordered rather than just say "nothing for you"? As well, the mint tea was served in a large ordinary teapot and mug with one poor tea bag and it was not hot enough and too weak as it had a chemical taste. We also were not served water at our table and the server was not very attentive. Cutting corners like this left me feeling suspicious and kind...
Read moreHad a lovely anniversary dinner at Beaurivage bistro today! We got the pre-set dinner for 2, which varies so ask your server what it comes with. Ours came with hummus and fresh pita, cauliflower rosettes (which looked simple but so incredibly delicious), stuffed grape leaves (which just melt in your mouth), followed by the flavourful house salad, then the main course of chicken shawarma, beef kebab and kibbeh balls. The dinner was concluded with one of the best baklava I’ve had in the city along with fresh fruit and Lebanese coffee. There was so much food and variety that we couldn’t finish it all. For the price, it was definitely worth it. The owner was also so warm and friendly. He chatted with every table and gave us a lovely explanation of the cuisine and all the influences from the past that make it unique. Definitely a great place to take your time grazing at the dishes. Set aside a couple hours to savour the dishes and enjoy the company of...
Read moreI had heard about this restaurant casually amongst friends. I love Greek salad and beef shawarma so I had been looking forward to going. I cannot be thankful enough that I made it. My tastebuds and eyes were delighted from start to finish. The presentation and flavours were a perfect match. The homemade dishes and just the right amount of engagement from the chef topped off my experience. I looked at his cookbook and will be back to try something different to treat myself and I’ll buy the book to attempt ultimately delicious meals, in my own kitchen. I cannot express enough how fresh and deliciously healthy every single bite tasted. A real treat in times of over pricing and small portions . This restaurant is top notch in all aspects....
