Aristocrat Restaurant — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I’ve been here a total of 3 times. First time was exceptional. I received great service, great food at an even greater value to a point where I gave the employee a tip for my overall experience. She was so shocked I gave her a tip, she even told me “I’ll buy coffee with it!”

2nd time I tried telling the same person that the other employee gave me Combo 1 (1 item with rice), which is what I ordered. However the same person that I had great service from the first visit, charged me for the price of Combo 2, which is $1 more. I tried to explain to her I was over-charged but she just kept over-talking me insisting I was charged correctly. With being totally caught off guard, I made the decision to just pay “the right” price and leave without escalating the situation. I definitely did not tip that time.

3rd time was this week, they didn’t have the item I liked which was fine, so I picked a different one for my Combo 1. The same employee from the previous two visits recognized me and takes a moment to think of a response to my request. She then says “Uh.. the last customer before you just took the rest of the rice and pancit, so we don’t have anymore to go with the item.” and then just stares at me to see my reaction. She looked as if she just wanted me to leave.

Again, not wanting to escalate the situation, I politely replied “Oh ok no worries, thank you so much.”

She did not apologize, she did not ask if there was anything she could do, nor did she say thank you for coming. She just stood there staring at me until I left.

If I could rate lower than 1 star, I would.

I’m not sure if there was anything I did on my end during my visits to warrant her poor treatment towards me, but I know that just because the prices at this restaurant are cheap, doesn’t mean the customer service has to be.

We just came back from Niagara and I really miss Filipino food. This is the first place I have in mind for a quick grab without a line up. More like a “carinderia” set up in the Philippines. I’m giving it a 4 star mainly because the staff are really friendly. Majority of the time I get a free dish especially when they are about to close.

Apparently, we came at the right time. I ordered beef caldereta which is by the way really good and they gave me an extra chicken tinola which is also good. I bought another 2 barbecue and they gave the 2 remaining on too of my order. I only paid $12...

I have been a regular of Aristocrat’s for well over 10 years, even years ago at their old location, and never have I encountered any problems with their food up until now! I ordered pork skewers on the go for lunch, and to my surprise while having them, my family and I found long black hairs (numerous) wrapped in between EACH SKEWER! Had to throw away close to $25 worth of food because of this problem... Immensely disappointed based on this experience and will not be returning for...
