Once check this review before getting to this restaurant 🫵🏻😱😱
One of my friends works there, and after hearing their experience, I felt like I had to speak up. The owner is extremely greedy and unfair. They promised to pay staff $700 per month, which is already too low. When you calculate it, they are giving only $2 to $3 per hour—yes, literally that low! In a country where the minimum wage is around $14 to $15 per hour, how can they treat workers like this? It’s not just unfair—it’s exploitation.
What’s worse is that they hire people, make them work hard for a month, and then fire them without paying a fair wage. Imagine working long shifts, giving your best, and then being treated like that. These workers help keep the restaurant running, they serve customers with a smile, they clean, cook, and do everything to make the business successful—but instead of being appreciated, they are cheated.
The owner takes advantage of newcomers who are struggling to find a job in Winnipeg. Many international students or newcomers are just trying to survive and support themselves. These greedy owners know that, and they use it to pay peanuts while making big profits. This is not just a bad business practice—it’s morally wrong.
I don’t know if the restaurant will take this review seriously, but if you are reading this as a customer, I request you—please don’t support such places. Don’t waste your money and time here. Boycott restaurants that treat their staff like this. It’s time we stand up for what’s right. We all enjoy good food and good service, but we must also care about the people who are working hard behind the scenes.
And to the owner, please remember—karma is real. You may earn some money today by stealing from your workers, but one day, you will have to face the consequences. If this is how you run a business, just know that people are watching, and slowly, your true face will be exposed.
Please, everyone—if you care about fairness, if you believe in supporting honest businesses, do not visit this restaurant. And definitely, do not tip here. It’s a crabby, scammy place that doesn’t deserve...
Read moreThe reason why I give it a one-star is the people that are there don't really speak that well of English I'm not trying to be racist or anything like that but it you know when your getting a beer or something to eat or what not it's good to have a bit of a conversation specially if you're asking for something to drink another thing to is they play a lot of East Indian music don't understand what they're saying it's not really my cup of tea the food is good do not get me wrong but if you're going to go for a couple of drinks that was not be one place I would take if they become more friendlier more talkative be the better not give it a higher rating but until then I would have to stay just take out or even eat there but for drinking wise I would not even recommend. Just went back there today Sunday August 6th I asked for a beer made a mistake and said Oh I thought the beer was $4.25 it was not it was more than 525 it was 5.65 I said what normally at other places bars the beer starts at 5:25 dollars so when they charged me they said plus tax which came out to 565 waited like almost 10 minutes for one beer while they kept walking around they could have served me a beer they did not until after 10 minutes very bad customer service and then like I said $5.65 for a beer it's 525 for a beer and go to other places you go to other establishments and that's what the general price is $5.25 they trick me with taxes with you are obviously pocketing would not recommend white people go there would not recommend any race go there that is not their kind I'm sorry I'm not racist but enough is enough you go there for samosas o plus tax for the person beside you happened to be there kind six bucks there you go very unprofessional very rude this is not a place I would go unless they change their attitude there's better places to go for...
Read moreIn town for a night, found this Indian place that showed on the online menu, items that were vegan and such. Family agreed and we drove to this location.
Were quickly seated and the girls tried to convince us to go for the AYCE option. We were not for it and instead ordered 4 thalis with Naan and a roti with no butter option for me. When it came to choices the Vegetarian options quite limited and the server was totally confused which items had dairy and which didn’t. After few back and forth from the kitchen we knew what was OK for me. All the thalis came with Palak Paneer and the initially refused to replace with a veggie option available there on the buffet. I was asking for a lower price option and she just wasn’t getting it. Finally she saw what we were trying to do.
First came the only the curries and no naans. After a considerable wait only half of the naans came. The roti came slathered with butter! Had to send back. Then came the other half of the naan and then finally the roti. Completely ruined our appetite. Instead of the serving the dessert as part of the thali the desert came much after. When requested that the dessert be replaced any curry, the server refused. I did not have the energy to argue any more.
Completely untrained staff which the owner/manager is to blame. The young school aged server had no idea what do. They were trained to serve buffet folks-pick up plates and give the checks.
Oh, what about the food? Would have given a higher rating if the service had been better. But after so much conversation with the server, I had lost my appetite. As...
