HORRIBLE SERVICE. I hardly ever write bad reviews but this may have been the worst service my boyfriend and I have ever received. I myself have worked in the service industry for a good amount of time. I have supervised, worked full houses completely alone, I know what it's like to be busy and run behind. However, they had almost a full staff, multiple chefs and very few dine in customers, easily less than 10.
When we sat down it took a good 5-10 minutes just to be greeted and welcomed by our server, we instantly ordered our drinks and food. I ordered an appetizer which in-itself took 20 minutes to come out (sunomono salad which takes literally 2 minutes if that to make). Once it hit the table not once did our server come back to give us an ETA on our food or to apologize for the wait or to refill our drinks. At this point a couple came in soon after us, once 25 minutes had passed they left after not being asked to order or what they would like to drink. Our server constantly walked past us and wouldn't give us the time of day. We tried to get her attention or other servers and they just kept walking. We gave up and left after waiting for over 45 minutes to speak to our server again.
If you cannot keep up with orders in house or on skip it should be turned off or give your in house guests a heads up. Skip informs the customer if the kitchen is busy and running behind people expect a long wait for delivery and take out. No dine in should take over 45 minutes to be spoken to twice. They were unprofessional and rude, at least talk and touch base with your guests, inform them of the situation at hand; apologize, ask if there is anything you can grab them in the meantime or bring things out as they become ready. DO NOT IGNORE YOUR TABLES.
My boyfriend and I both have very busy lives so we want to enjoy our nights out and the moments we can spend together. Nothing about this place allowed that.
As a supervisor I would be not only embarrassed but furious, if a server cannot speak to a table or is behind you're the one to help them talk to the tables, calm them down, explain, make a compensation and hope they still enjoy the experience. Things happen people are human but the way you handle those situations is what makes a restaurant what they are. I will never be returning and I'm sure most of the people there last night will not be either.
Thankfully we headed to BDI and ordered pizza and ended up making up for the experience we...
Read moreThis used to be a place I enjoyed, and also carried sentimental memories for me. Unfortunately, after today’s experience, I don’t think I would return.
Service: the male server we had today was just rude and absolutely awful. My daughter had picked up her chopsticks in front of him (she is young/toddler and this was prior to ordering, however she uses chopsticks regularly at home and knows how to behave with them. She was also just picking them up to ask the adults at the table if they were her set…) and immediately he started lecturing her and setting rules “1) absolutely no drumming allowed, 2) a few weeks ago someone poked their eyes so make sure you guys are watching her because we’re not held liable.”. I understand she is young, however she wasn’t misbehaving with them, and I also didn’t appreciate the comments as if I don’t mind my own child. When setting down our food, he was handing the wrong ramen orders to the wrong people, and proceeds to say “clear the middle, your sushi is coming” (our appetizers that he set down were in the way). He is a big reason why I won’t return. The hostess is the one of the saving graces in this review. She was very accommodating to us, and friendly with my daughter. Wish she was our server instead.
Food: edamame was over steamed, overall just fine. One ramen was well liked by some. We ordered the sushi party tray and although it tasted good, I was disappointed to see duplicate rolls… when you order a $130+ for a party tray that has 10 rolls and 32 nigiri, it’s disappointing to have a lack of variety. Although all the pieces were there, we really only got 5 different rolls, each twice - and 4 different nigiri kinds, 8 of each kind… I understand it is chefs choice, but to receive duplicate rolls is disappointing.
Cleanliness: the bathrooms seemed like they haven’t been cleaned in months. Hardly any soap in dispensers, dust everywhere, paper towel rolls falling off. Certain areas of the restaurant were also coated in dust and just seemed like they haven’t been used in months (bar)
Price: a lot of food was ordered (two appetizers, two ramens, and party tray) and bill came just short of $200.00 - disappointing for terrible and rude service and duplicate sushi. Had those been different, then I definitely wouldn’t...
Read moreMe and my friends are regular customers of this restaurant who goes here at least once a week. The foods are great every visit and also the service. But on Feb.15 Friday (around 11pm) I had the worst service ever. The server (man) who works there sincerely doesn't know how to serve the foods how to deal with customers at all. We came in pretty late and ordered foods, waited. He didn't offer us any drinks so we waited. But no water or any drinks until we asked. Also all our appetizers were cold which came out together with all the foods we ordered. Our order took almost 30mins to come out even though I see no one ordered after us. That night we didn't like any rolls as well. For special roll (volcano) there were no sauce at all just little on top which it shouldn't be. We felt like just eating normal California roll. We order the same menu every visit and it seemed really different. Ok we can just eat that didn't complain at all. but when we are there to enjoy our Friday night he ruined all our feelings because of his attitudes. Asked for 2 boxes and we found out we could pack our food in 1 box, so told him we are ok with 1 box. And he started looking at us weird. After that we asked for bills. He didn't ask any of us if we want a separate bills or not. Just brought one bill so we told him we will all pay separately. He started saying oh ok and throwing the bills on the floor, breathing so hard like he's angry at us or something. It was very uncomfortable experience and I guess I'm not going there until I feel better. The money we spent that night was about $70 and thinking it was...
