Fountain drinks were flatter than a board, even after explaining to the waitress and her checking on it. Zero carbonation. Then the soup served was lukewarm at best. Pizza has this ridiculous second circle cut in the middle of it making eating a slice a mess and waaaay less enjoyable, and the pizza - oh, the pizza. Served warm, not even remotely close to hot. With a visibly undercooked crust (pizza oven temperatures arent set properly). Then, despite having heard they are known for their pizza, the product was disgusting. I don't know what sorta twisted "guarded family" recipe that resulted in what was served but it had zero resemblance to a tomato based sauce of any sort, and had a weird sweet almost, for lack of better words, creamy feel to it, with an end result that would be misleading to refer to as pizza. Absolutely disgusting and repulsive. And for anyone who might have issues with mobility and accessibility, their washroom doors are literally similar to a fun house, and an average person can't walk thru them without turning sideways, much less if you have a walker, wheelchair, etc. I worry for the person who has an accident/medical incident and has to be removed from the washroom, as their door isnt anywhere near being "to code" or usable by a normal sized human. I've seen wider doors with better access in a Montessori. I would wager they are probably 18"- 20"wide. All in all, the service was bland and lackluster, the food was gross & tepid (and overpriced) and the facilities were lacking and clearly in need of repair/updating. Winnipeg has much better to offer, spend your money elsewhere and save your taste buds the trauma. Let this one wither into a series of deservingly shuttered establishments. If they are open for 2 more years,...
Read moreI had an amazing experience at DJay's Restaurant! The Superman pizza was a true delight. The crust thickness was just perfect, striking a balance between not too thick and not too thin. The pizza sauce was incredible, with a unique flavor that's hard to describe but absolutely delicious – apparently, it's a secret family recipe. The meat on the Superman pizza was fresh and flavorful, sourced from Winnipeg old country sausage, which is top-notch quality. They also use New Bothwell cheese, known for its legendary quality. The combination of these high-quality ingredients created one of the most delicious pizzas I've ever had!
I even enjoyed some leftover pizza with my morning coffee because I couldn't resist its taste. Kudos to DJay's for delivering such a fantastic culinary experience. I must also commend our hostess/server, Julia, who was not only accommodating but also cheerful and helpful in assisting our dinner guests with their selections. Her suggestion of 1/2 mushroom fusion and 1/2 Hawaiian pizza for one of our indecisive guests was spot on. Thank you, DJay's, for delivering sheer...
Read moreSo this was my first time going to DJ's. Which I have to say was quite disappointing. Ordered a #1 pizza which was $28.99 for a 15 inch large pizza. It was pepperoni mushroom and salami. I will say ive had much better tasting pizza at Little Ceasers for $5. This pizza had a very bland nothing type of flavour. And it was all canned ingredients. Canned mushrooms and the pizza sauce was so runny and was so excessive that the pizza fell apart. And to top it off it was almost like the pizza was originally a small that they extended the crust into a large because the pizza slices fell in half in a perfect ring inside the ring. To be honest we would have left the half of the pizza we didnt eat (as I shared this with my family). But we spent so much in it we figured we may be able to save it at hkme with some modifications. Needless to say my family wont be eating there again. On a side note. If you want anything on this menu your looking at a $16 minimum. And thats including the salads...
