Happy Lemon Winnipeg Polo Park — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I love boba and all bubbles teas, so when I saw Happy Lemon sold the popping boba I was over the moon. We ordered through door dash as we are college students and are currently in the red zone for covid. So only 4 out of 5 drinks arrived and when we contacted the store they offered little customer support or help and just continued to say they don’t know what they could do and that maybe the courier driver took our 5th drink. We contacted door dash and the customer support was outstanding and very helpful, we finally got through to happy lemon again but only after calling with a different number. We rang 5 times on one phone with no answer and the phone constantly wringing, called again with a different phone number, phone rang 3 times and someone picked up. I’d hate to believe they were ignoring a call but they did seem annoyed with us as we were calling back and forth many times trying to figure it all out. It sounded like they just didn’t have the time in the day for us. Every time I’d bring up that we only have 4 out of 5 drinks but 5 straws she’d laugh and say she doesn’t know what we want her to do. She kept saying they had security footage and that they are not wrong and did send out a 5th drink. We were told we would be contacted within the hour and never heard anything again. Very poor customer support, sad to say we will not be purchasing bubble tea...

*update I came back. Got the Jasmine wth salted cheese foam hot. It's good. Their servers need to pay more attention because we did get an entirely wrong drink order. They did correct it immediately, but had they been busier it might have been a problem.

Having trouble with deciding on this rating. It's between a 4-5 right now. Unfortunately no 4.5 .

I settled on a 4 because I'm unsure. If I find I crave it the way I did with my favorite bubble tea place (we ended up going back multiple times within a short period of time) i will upgrade the star rating.

There are a few things I really loved about this place... Like the parking. My favorite place has bad parking options in comparison.

One issue we had was there was no options without tea? I know this is a bubble tea place but having the wintermelon option would be great. Friend who doesn't love tea didn't have anything he could order. He ordered a drink but ultimately didn't like it. Correction** they told us the chocolate series doesn't have caffeine. This is a chain so I don't think they will make any adjustments if it isn't within its corporate guidelines.

Their cream cheese foam is more similar to what I had in Vancouver. The boba has a good consistency. Pricing seemed in line with other places. Our large...

I come here occasionally for their cheese foam series since it’s their specialty! I’ve noticed throughout the years that their portions have diminished. Their tapioca serving barely covers the bottom of the boba cup, it’s less than other bubble tea places for sure.

Their service is consistently great in store but with rising drink costs, they should at least maintain the same portion size for their drink items. I would still come here once in a while for their cheese foam drinks but definitely not a regular boba spot for me to drop by at. Spending $8.73 for a large (regular) size drink with almost half of what other places offer when you ask for tapioca topping isn’t a good look for any establishment, especially a chain!

Just something to keep in mind, Happy Lemon might be able to get more 5 star ratings if you keep more of a consistent quality...
